Just been chatting with a good friend in Chicago. He’s going to a pub to watch the game with a couple of expat Brits. I told him that if they are relaxed and chatty they might not actually be English. This is not meant to be fun until we are 2, no 3 goals up.

What a shame that this is so predictable. I hope you are wrong though I don’t think you will be. Any excuse for some people. I just hope that the people who like to have a pop at someone in the colours of another country realise that 15 of the England squad could easily have been representing other countries if the dice had rolled in a different way. 3-4-3 is our ‘we are playing a good team’ line up I think. And that’s fair enough, because we are. I would have preferred 4-3-3 like Italy, but whatever Southgate has done has got us here, so what do I know.
I’d like to see Grealish at some stage, and Foden (though I hear he has a knock). Just because I like to watch them play.
