Outstanding. Just been chatting with a good friend in Chicago. He’s going to a pub to watch the game with a couple of expat Brits. I told him that if they are relaxed and chatty they might not actually be English. This is not meant to be fun until we are 2, no 3 goals up.

3-4-3 is our ‘we are playing a good team’ line up I think. And that’s fair enough, because we are. I would have preferred 4-3-3 like Italy, but whatever Southgate has done has got us here, so what do I know. I’d like to see Grealish at some stage, and Foden (though I hear he has a knock). I do hope the idiots don’t boo the Italian national anthem, it’s my favourite anthem. Make me want to be Italian (until kick off). I don’t think they booed the danish one but we’re all snoring as it is even more dull than the British one
A very defensive line up, only 3 mainly attacking players in the 11. But the 3 4 3 worked against Germany, and Southgate has shown he knows what he's doing.
