    If it's a relegation season, I'm tuning in.

    Not saying this to wum. Really not, but...what's the point? Like what is the USP? What is there even remotely interesting about Arsenal at the moment? Unless Amazon are predicting a near total collapse and relegation, how would this appeal to the neutral?

    City's version obviously played off the hope that they would clear shop with trophy wins. Ours began as a story of CL runners up moving to a new era in a state of the art new venue...little did Amazon realise they'd get much more drama than they'd bargained for when Poch got sacked and The Special Circus rolled into town.

    But Arsenal? Nah. Might as well make one about West Ham or Everton. Same difference.

    @BrunelGunner
    @PINKIE
    @gooner4ever

    To confirm.

    Pisk got re-banned so he won't see this.

    Probably focusing on how many stars a 32 year old Aubameyang can get shaved in his head and what stupid outfit Bellerin will next wear.

    Though in all seriousness? At a guess I'd say to see if they can rebuild after a dreadful season and hoping that Arteta isn't just a glorified former cone placer. It does seem quite weird but then the true motive will always come down to £££.

    It does have to be said that picking Arsenal is a safe choice that risks being a damp squib due to its safeness

    In comparison a series following Leeds could be fascinating, and Palace could be a lowkey good one because as things stand their season looks set to be rostrum or hospital

    They can't really fail, story wise.
    If Arsenal do well, then they've got a story. Badly? Even better. Mediocre? Still works.
    It'll end up being a dodgy spin vehicle for their owners, like ours was, but it's an easy sell.

    I think PNP has it spot on. Although I personally take the cynical view that the club are using this as PR attempt to get sympathy from fans and neutrals alike. That said, it's true that no matter how our season goes, there will be plenty of people engaging with this. I know it's for the wrong reasons, but Arsenal have provided a lot of comedic and entertainment value to others over the last few years. I don't think the owners are trying to feed into this further by doing this documentary though, I think it'll be an attempt to save face or show how 'complex' it is running a big club. But I question whether this intention will be portrayed how they want or whether it will make people even more secure in their current beliefs about how incompetent we are.

    Arsenal still have a large global reputation and I think many people would also be curious to see how one of the most successful clubs in England ended up going from having an 'invincible' team and getting to a CL final to now struggling to qualify for Europe at all. In theory anyway. I don't expect the Amazon documentary to do a deep dive into our failings over a timespan. However, it will definitely gather interest, even if it's for the reasons that we don't want.

    Think the goons had the 3rd best record from new years day to the end of the season.
    Could well surprise a few this season

    What? And they still finished below us?!

    Fuming.

    We could barely kick a football in the second half of the season.

    They picked up 50 points in their last 24 matches...over 2 points per game.

    They only lost 5 of those...to Everton, City, Liverpool, Villa and Wolves.

    They beat Leicester, Chelsea (twice) and us in that run and drew with united and West Ham.

    Ah, the good old days of the Wenger era season run-in form
    ( "if we had played like that all season we would have won the league" etc) . :)

    Back then it used to salvage their precious CL slot.
    Now it doesn't even get them into 'Europa League 2 (electric boogaloo) ' .

    Given the low IQ of yer average top flight footballer,
    the moment you see one with a 4 digit number on their shirt
    then you have the PIN for their credit/debit cards.

    I’d be interested to see the data that show footballers have lower IQs than average....

    I remember whenever Angus Deayton appeared on Fantasy Football League both Baddiel and Skinner would bring up how he often met players behind the scenes at Old Trafford, which then transitioned into them asking if Ryan Giggs was thick

    Every single time Deayton batted it away in a couple of seconds, but after the second time you'd think they might have taken the hint

    TNS's number 9 doing a better job of dribbling past players and scoring than Andros Townsend ever did
