The idea of a loan move is to give the player playing time and become a better player but to what end if he’s playing against Division 3 defenders? Same with Whyte- what’ll happen with him?
Damned if you do, damned if you dont. Not sure what MMs remit is, other than get us promoted. If MM doesnt fancy Watters now, will he fancy him in 12 months, especially if we do get promoted. We also need to avoid getting a reputation for buggering up players careers. Too many failures in the last few years. I'd suggest our fault more than theirs.
Why are we faffing about trying to get this young unproven Giles character on loan from Wolves when Adam Reach is still available for free?
Is this true? If so it explains an awful lot.................. https://global247news.com/2021/07/08/cardiff-city-placed-under-transfer-embargo-again/
It is true but new today. Yesterday it was only Derby, Reading and Hull in the Championship. Embargo due to non payment of transfer installments. No further info on EFL site. A comment from the club would be helpful.
Bannan is quality. Reach is average and flatters to deceive. Got to get the embargo sorted first though
Was just about to post the same link. We had one, it went away, now we have another for a different, more concerning reason. The first was administrative, this is financial. Be interesting to find out who the payments were due to made to. Wonder if its Sala related. As you say, explains a lot, though there was a window when deals could have been done.
Though only posted yesterday, I think City would have known about it. They wouldn't have attempted to buy anyone they couldn't register with the EFL.
Agreed he's quality but at 31 a limiited time frame and is under contract so a fee is likely with little hope of selling on a year or 2 down the line. All umbongoed for now anyway.
I like Bannan and he'd be a great acquisition, but if Reach is "average", then we've got a real load of crap at the club right now - especially down the left. Rumours were that Bannan had a low buyout clause inserted in his new contract with Wednesday, but he'd still cost money and whatever amount that was, it would still be a "no return" investment due to his age. Anyway, Bannon and Reach are totally different types of players. Bannon is the playmaker we lack, and Reach the left sided back to front player - perfect left footed wingback to suit Mick's preferred system.
He wasn’t the worst season long loan we’ve seen but Glen it’s a no from me https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...liverpool-star-now-complete-transfer-21002991
I see Derby have got a "suspended" 3 point deduction to be activated immediatley should they fail to pay their players on time throughout the season.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Byrne_(footballer,_born_1996) Jack Byrne anyone? Has the appearance of a man with the promise of a career behind him. However MM is apparently keen on a reunion as he has managed him before. Looks like an attacking midfielder who can also play out wide.
