Kane did quite an unusual dive last night. He ended up on his knees like he was about to pray to baby Jesus. They should look at Grealish if they want to learn to dive without it looking like an obvious dive.
Doesn't bother me in the slightest. In fact I'd be happy for Sterling to con a penalty from the "old warrior" Chiellini in the final and England win 1-0. It is part and parcel of the modern game, whether we like it or not. Same as the haircuts, tattoos, the ridiculous amounts of money, the tripe on social media. At the end of the day the only opinion that matters is the referee's and he gave the penalty. EOS.
The Danes were out on their feet Tamerlo. They had zero energy in reserve and England were in total control, dominating possession and pulling them all around the place in midfield from the 75th minute until they sat back after going 2-1 up in the second period of extra time. England literally ran them ragged, look at Sterling, Philips, and whoever else to see how much legs they still had in extra time compared to the opposition. I didn't mention the phantom penalty in my post, just that it was as easy as ya could get for being in control of a game of soccer, which England were. I had numerous messages saying the exact same thing that it was only a matter of time before England scored. No need to be bitter or downhearted towards and excellent result for your Country. Cheer up.
Unless you are waiting on thousands as a result of an Italy win, you should be burned at the stake for wanting an Italy win Please note I do not condone burning you on a stake nor do I want that to happen. Incase it gets lost in translation, you're a good egg stick, good luck with whatever happens.
For what it's worth, I thought Denmark was the best team we have played so far and i thought it was the best we had played so far. Yes we were in control towards the end but as long as it was all square it wasn't comfortable with their fast, direct breaks. Also their free kick was deadly and we could have conceded another, which would have been nervy
I'm certainly not fussy when it comes to the humble egg. Any type and whatever way... As long as you are cooking
Have a chill pill - England have reached their first major final since before I was born. I’m loving it and so are all England fans worldwide, what’s not to like? If you’ve got a “country vs. betslip” dilemma then that’s your problem. Happy for you to put up a boom if Italy win but let’s just ****ing enjoy getting there in the meantime, eh?
A chill pill....I was joking about you using the Arkleesque EOS on your post.... I have no dilemma at all and my only problem is how we got the win last night. Not the way we ever subscribed to....or so I thought. You and Saff think it was a penalty, Tam and I dont.
Fair enough - I’m just chuffed we’re in the final. I still think it was a penalty 60-40 but it’s history now - onwards and upwards
STH, so whoever is on top should be given the right to win through bad refereeing? That’s cheered me up.
My view is that it wasn’t a dive but it wasn’t a penalty either. It was a marginal call that the ref saw as a penalty and VAR couldn’t overrule as he was impeded and it wasn’t a complete miscall by the ref. Not sure what the big deal is, just a typical football incident for me.
Well said. I agree I don't think it was a penalty. Soft decision but I don't think he intentionally dived either. I thought the earlier one on Kane was a definite penalty but that went the other way, free kick against him. Do two wrongs make a right. No they don't unless I'm being a stereotypical hypocritical England fan then damn right they do!
I think the referee should have gone to the monitor and have another look without the heat of the moment being a factor. It was a huge decision to call in real time. Had he gone to the monitor and looked from all the angles and still said penalty then fair enough. I was with twenty other lads, all England fans, and though none really cared none actually believed it was a penalty.
Who said that? I was referencing the game and how easily in control England were, I've never once mentioned the penalty or referee. It looked to me and the majority of people that they were going to score regardless of if it came from the spot or open play in the extra time period. The goal was ominous. It really did not matter how they went through in the end. The best team won. I am not even concerned about who won, I just stated how dominant England were on the ball. In the 2nd period of extra time, England strung 53 passes in succession together, that being just one example of how easy the game was for them out there, Denmark did well to keep the shape defensively and keep any real chances at bay, but they were out on their feet come the end of the game due to being run around the field for most of the game. That was all my point was. I don't get any issue with this. And just on the penalty, who the feck would care how they got the winner, if you were from that country, it is like you have become so used to losing in an unlucky way ie. penalty shootouts, balls crossing the line not been given, yous still aren't happy when you get a break and qualify for your first major final in a long time. Hard to win sometimes.
Your country has just secured their place in a major final. Not sure why you would need cheered up at all... It's better to be happy in life and have a positive outlook rather than scratching about looking for reasons not to be happy.
They’ve not done that all tournament, they only go to the monitor if the video ref thinks they’ve made a mistake. They didn’t, he didn’t.
