Trying to work out if that comment was made with the knowledge he was born pretty close to the border. He's only 34 now... should be at his peak. He's really not.
Everybody has turned up for us, after a slow start. Morale has clearly built up slowly but surely and now we look strong everywhere. I think the fans would forgive the team for losing in a final, so providing we get past Denmark we’ve had a great run, and the lads should be recognised for that. For me, the biggest single influence has been Maguire coming back in, he’s commanding the back line and showing real leadership. Given his season started off with a cluster ****, he’s recovered well and I’ll be made up for him if he lifts that trophy on Sunday.
Can be total **** at times but has the instinct to be in the right place at the end of moves. Kane has as good a chance, he has hit a bit of form. His first goal on saturday was a real strikers goal.
Really looking forward to this game tonight. Italy have been brilliant so far in this comp so on paper you'd fancy them. But Spain know how to negotiate these tournaments and have found a way to get themselves to the semis. Italy are going to miss Spinazolla who's been brilliant. And both teams have plenty of attacking talent. Hopefully it will be a belter
Italy played the best football the most consistently through the tournament. A joy to watch. They lose a little of their natural game without Spinazolla but hopefully they still play with the same swagger tonight. Insigne the player of the tournament for me. Hope he tears Spain a new one.
