Anyone else struggling? I've tried all the antihistamines and none of them give me any relief.

It's pissing down right now, you would have thought that would help, but no it just makes it worserer.

This isn't a good thread, is it <laugh>

That is meant to be a good one, Chazz, but apparently you need to start having a teaspoon every morning from January and I always forget.

Come on lads I'm really struggling with this.

Someone told me I should have more Garlic in my diet, but I couldn't have more Garlic if I tried.

    Smelly breath bastard I am:angry:

Two pitch fork prongs rammed up the nostrils used to work in the middle ages. That'd be between 30 and 55. Do you qualify?
Correction. That'd be between 20 and 30. No-one lived until 55 in the middle ages. All that effing hay-fever.
Do you dust your property? I blame my missus for my affliction - she never used a duster in her life.

Well I don't dust it, obvs. That's the Missus job.

Anyway, this isn't a laughing matter. Hay Fever is a terrible affliction and I expect this forum to help me out.

    I am suffering terribly.

    Please help me.

Do you know I have to use my fingers just to open my eyes when I first wake up in the morning?

I think people are failing to take your problems seriously, which is sad.

Have you considered some of the technology available to help? I'm not sure where you'd get them from, but these could possibly help. <ok>

It's a right debilitator is hay fever. I have the same "Sticky-eye" post slumber syndrome.

I think I have now determined why I'm not a scratch golfer. Those bastard groundsmen & women keep cutting the grass and I sneeze approx every second shot (usually 3 times per hole, whatever the hole rating!). There are times when I'd rather hit the ball into the woods - no bloody grass around to trigger a reaction.

I'm often in the woods, some of my best shots are in the woods I find. All 50 of 'em.:emoticon-0106-cryin

    No worthwhile suggestions I'm afraid.

I’ve looked into this in a non a scientfic way, and as my lad says I’m not allowed to just call you two a bunch a ****s which is my stock answer for most things these days, then you need to move! It’s tht simple. Kempton lives round the avenues, all trees and grass verges and bunches of ****s. Ernie, I imagine, owns half of Northumberland and has a sit on lawnmower!
So get a nice flat top of BathurstSt flats or Cambridge st and it’s problem solved!

Can anyone confirm if I have hay fever?
    Tired a lot
    Blocked nose
    sore eyes intermittent
    Struggle to get up
    Eyes don’t want to open

tried antihistamine but don’t notice a change really , find above symptoms about 4-5 days a week since crops developed like rape etc
    Yes I know I can see a doctor - in 2022

I sympathise with you Kempton. Hayfever can be horrible.
I used to get it really bad when I was younger, as in constant sneezing, itching eyes, nose like a tap.
Now I'm older, it's really changed. It's maybe actually worse.
It starts in around March with tree pollen. Then continues through to summer with grass pollen.
Unlike when younger, I have no really obvious signs that others would see, but a lot of the time I feel wiped out, and then tightness or 'froginess' in chest / breathing comes and goes. It's the feeling of being wiped out that's by far the worse.
And no point in me drinking during spring / summer months as that makes it 10x worse.
    No real solution I'm afraid!
From March to late summer, I take a daily antihistamine (cetrizine) and then before bed I take a Benadryl 8 hr capsule. I also have a Nasonex nasal spray which I use before bed (it was actually for preventing return of nasal polyps following an operation, but it is also a hayfever / rhinitis treatment). I think those things taken at night help and get me through those seasons.
If I'm really bad or need something to counter my snoring, I take a Benadryl Plus capsule before bed (antihistamine + decongestant) but they aren't for long term use (as in 1 week max). I also use them if I'm going somewhere where I can't avoid a drink or two (maybe not good with several drinks!).
It really is crap. Sort of spoils the best seasons of the year. It seems like it's been really bad this year.

Rape crops aren't generally linked to hay fever, as they provoke a different reaction from the body, and the symptoms fade as you move away from the crop.
