When "it's coming home" first came out my kids were kids (adults now) i used to sing Sea lions on their shirts, they loved it. Little factlet of Diego life
Shame they didn't play the music for that or 633 Squadron when the Germans slipped off after the Game Have to say Jurgan Klinsman was superb on the pundit panel during and after the match
I mean we beat the Germans bro, it’s the one international fixture for England fans that feels like a cup final every time we beat them. There’s also no point dressing it down, we are heavy favourites in our side of the group, no two ways about it so our fans are entitled to get excited at the first major final for many of them in their lifetimes. We also need to remember that the atmosphere is not replicated in any club team sport, no matter who you support the entire country is building up a fever for football again, off the back of the worst 18 months imaginable. I ain’t calming down and being reserved, we dusted the Germans last night and if we get to the final I’d fancy us against any of the teams on the other side as well.
Not because I think we’re fantastic all of a sudden by the way but because it’s at Wembley and because there’s no single team that have played great football in the tournament consistently.
No, I completely agree that on the face of it it looks promising and that the competition is opening up before us. We've also been here before though. Beating Germany doesn't equate to winning the tournament, there's work to do yet and a calmer reaction would probably be beneficial to the team as the whole thing is now going to get ramped up out of proportion. As for the fans, be great to play both the semi and (hopefully) final at Wembley but next match is in Rome with no fans so that's a stumbling block, although we should have the beating of Ukraine as we've a superior squad. Prefer a bit of realism myself, I can jump around throwing beer at everyone if we actually win it.
Would anyone make changes? Kane was prime for dropping and then he scored, although he has not played well at all. He looks one of Southgate's undroppables, which could be a dangerous thing to do. Then again, he might now find some form. Would probably change Saka for Foden, or give Sancho a run, myself but the rest look set fair. Depends on back three/back four regards to full backs of course.
but on Not606, you’ll get rinsed and pictures of ringpieces n stuff different kinda jungle here Chief Brb will probably ban you Libby will put you on ignore etc etc
id drop Sterling apart from the goals, he hasnt brought much else to the game His primary job is to supply Kane so I would probably go for Sancho next game, more of a team player and I think that will be more beneficial for us going forward in games I’m expecting to be a bit tougher than what he have faced so far.
Right now I’d change Saka for Grealish and leave the team as it was. I said pre-game that the match was too big for Saka and it was, he could affect it at all. I’d actually leave the back three/five as well, it’s functional if not exciting, but the two centre mids were immense with that extra centre half behind them.
