No surprises from The Rev Southgate if this team wins it will be inspite of him. Only the Germans can save this from becoming a snooze fest.

The change to 3-4-3 to match up with Germans formation sends out the wrong message for me. We should play our best team in the formation that suits us and dictate the game our way.

Hope that Saka plays like he did against the Czechs and Phillips like he did against Croatia and then we will have chance, need Harry and Sterling to make intelligent runs and get Sterling isolated with Hummels whilst Harry should pull on to Rudiger wherever possible.

Hope we have sufficient creativity to win, this is not a great German team when compared to some vintages but neither was the 96 one and we know what happened then.

Come on England

Kane looking anonymous again. Honestly if I didn’t know his record, I’d think he was a competition winner playing as he has looked lost this tournament

(Really hope this comment comes back to bite me on the arse when Kane scores)

England look ok when we have what I would call dynamic possession but as soon as the ball goes backwards once and Germany reset, there’s not enough movement and confidence in tight spaces to work the ball.

The back 3 isn’t as bad as I worried this game but we badly lack a 10. I think England misuse Kane. In this setup he needs to drop more, in the 433/4231 he needs to stay up as he is this game.

De Bruyne could have played for England.
With a name like Kevin he should be.
All of these players would look so much better if England had a midfielder like him.
The South Yorkshire back three and the London front three have done well, but we haven’t had much in midfield.
