Both sets of fans seem to see themselves as underdogs, which is a bit of a wierd situation. I think we do have good players and strength in death, but not in all positions, some of it is still potential rather than realised, some established players don't seem to be in form and the coaching doesn't seem to get the best out of them. Players like Rashford, Sancho, Foden, Mount, Bellingham, Saka and Trent are all exceptional when on form and are all under 22 or so. But how often do they show it for England? And areas like GK, CB and CM are generally fine at best rather than outstanding.
I don't see how German fans can see themselves as underdogs. That in itself goes completely against their culture - towels on sun loungers immediately springs to mind The players you listed are probably the only ones I would say are exciting to watch, something which is in short supply. I get the going for the stalwarts but come on Gareth, give us a bit of a spectacle.
Germany going with littler mr missalot up top. Rudiger is playing with "cold like symptoms" they have a lot of pace and ability to pass it about. This is going to be interesting.
nah. thats your opinion and i respect your right to be so wrong but fack me wes brown is not better than stones or maguire.
We've gone 5 at the back so we can shoehorn Trippier into the team as he is apparently our best set piece taker .
Apparently they lost two world wars and one world cup. And the RAF from England shot their Bombers down. Also, going out in the group stage at the world cup and nearly going out to Hungary doesn't help.
England crowd will be hoarse here cos they are booing every german touch. Given Germany have about 80% of possession its be a long day. They would want to be saving some for booing southgate later.
