Brisbane, Australia
So I've just experienced my first live 'state of origin' game. For the uneducated among you it's a game of rugby league in Australia played between lads who where born in Queensland versus lads who where born in New South Wales.
I've never been a rugby league fan in either the UK or Australia but when I lived back home I would watch state of origin on sky from time to time as it really was the best of the best and there is some genuinely great skill compared to watching super league.
Back to the point. I've just been In a sold out stadium with 80,000 people in attendance and apart from the odd uninspired chant of 'queens queens queesnlander' it was like a morgue. We rightly complain about the sterilisation of football and what sky sports and the rest of the money grabbers have done to our game, but even in the sorry state its currently in no sport in the world can hold a candle to football. Nothing in the world compares to it and you lot are lucky you get the chance to see it live every week if you so choose. It's a shame our owners are scummy ****s but don't let that stop you from Seeing proper live sport. Because trust me, there's no substitute for football no matter how bad it's got!
I hope you all get chance to watch city next season in spite of the Allams

I support Hull City regardless of owners.
