I think we finished the 1st half the stronger side. There is very little atmosphere coming from their fans too, you can sense the unease.
If we manage to cling on for the draw we will have 7 points from 8 games which is mathematical relegation form. One free kick has got us back into the game, two golden opportunities that were completely wasted because the players on the park arn't capable of being deadly enough to prove their premiership quality.
"One free kick has got us back into the game, two golden opportunities that were completely wasted because the players on the park arn't capable of being deadly enough to prove their premiership quality. " cos midfielders are supposed to be able to score every opportunity? since when do you need to score to prove your quality? catts is not a natural goalscorer and never will be. I dont think he is good enough, but for other reasons. not sure about colback, but the lad has the potential to be a very good player - he is missing the experience though
Not really, people were talking about how you were going to be relegated when it was only 1-0. Anything can happen in football and when you are playing the most inconsistent side in the prem you have to fancy your chances that something will happen.
Not sure why the Sunderland fans are being so negative when they are facing the worst Arsenal side in about 20 years.
We have a fundamental problem here mate... We have a manager who isnt prepaired to play any strikers... So if we start the team with 7 midfielders it is logical to assume that our goals will come from those midfielders. If you have midfielders that dont score goals, how are we expected to convert the chances we create? Whats the point in putting a cross in to a player that cannot head the ball or a player who cannot keep his shot down from within the penalty box? How many opportunities will we need to remain level with a team the quality of arsenal or any other team that 'dares' to play a striker for example.
Well I guess you have to be realistic, sadly with the system that we have at the moment the title will only ever be contested by a few super wealthy clubs. Means you should enjoy the good times when they happen instead of moaning I feel although that is a bit condescending of me given I might be the same in your position
Maybe your game plan is about keeping the other team from scoring and looking to get goals from set pieces, it can be a very effective tactic as Stoke demonstrate.
Stoke play strikers... We are 4th off bottom with 6 points from 7 games, thats relegation form. I would concur with your post if we actually had the points on the board to prove it is working. However I have witnessed what has happened week in week out since we sold Bent. 16 points from 21 games.... The story tells itself.
commentator: Arsenal are good at countering the counter attack Are there any teams that are good at countering the counter counter attack?
