My hope is that Rashica's speed and dribbling ability will help us break the presses we'll come up against in the PL. DF will have have something planned for his defensive shortcomings. It sounds like a nice signing, but somewhat expensive.
Just watched this. In the first dozen attacks he was right,4. left, 4 and central, 4 . Stopped counting after that as it was obvious he has all round ability, though mostly right footed.
My guess: (6 places available) Rashica £10m (£4m first installment?) Gunn £5m (£2.5m first installment) Ajer £12m (£4m first installment?) Gilmour (£1m loan fee?) U21 Skipp (£1m loan fee?) U21 3 places still available and about £15m? 4-2-3-1: Sorenson a possible DM 3-4-2-1 option: Krul Hanley Ajer Gibson WBs: Aarons -----------Giannoulis Skipp/Sørensen - Gilmour/McLean/Rupp Rashica Dowell/Cantwell Pukki/Rashica Hard to know if £30m budget based on first installments or full fees, given the PL income to come later, though much of that will go on wages. The 3 additional places could be loans or cheaper players or one more quality player. DF clearly sees Rachica as a multiple option: “He can play a number of positions, as a winger, striker or number ten. He’s a pretty versatile player and we’re happy to be able to bring a quality player in.” https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/daniel-farke-on-new-norwich-signing-8079888
Nice to see West Ham fans embarrassed and envying us: "Norwich have given us the blueprint. Now it’s time that West Ham started acting like a big club. A bit of ruthlessness in the transfer market this summer would be a refreshing change." https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/norwich-have-just-absolutely-embarrassed-west-ham/
We go to war in the premier league with A Gunn this time! https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2021/june/gunn-completes-city-return/
DF's view on Gunn signing: https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/ncfc-boss-thrilled-to-sign-gunn-permanently-8081020
Very happy to get Gunn in, quality keeper to keep Krul on his toes, PL experience, potential to develop a lot further, relatively cheap and he’s a fan of the club which can only benefit the dressing room.
Rumour today in newsnow norwich that Gilmour is definitely coming to CR. He will be joining fellow Scots Hanley and McLean. The lad from Kosovo looks very useful. So, we have Rashica, Gunn and Gilmour so far. Good start.
There must be a reasonable chance of Skipp returning or SW wouldn't hold out for it, considering how important the DM position is. We're only allowed two PL loans though, so it's a serious gamble if it goes on to the end of the window. Meanwhile MFW also say that "Norwich City are close to a deal to sign Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour on loan for the 2021/22 season", which ties in with Paddy Davitt's earlier claim that Gilmour "is on his way". https://norwichcity.myfootballwriter.com/2021/06/23/city-closing-on-gilmour-loan-signing/
I feel a bit sorry for Aston Oxborough, he seems to be the forgotten man. I know he was unfortunately injured last year but I thought he was going to be our number 2 last season, now it seems everyone has forgotten about him. Even in the Clubs interview with Gunn they mention Krul, McGoverb, Barden, even Archie Mair. Considering Oxborough was potentially going to be No1 before a poor pre season and us signing Krul seems strange.
His contract was renewed last year, 1 year left to run plus an option to extend, due to return from injury in August so I imagine he will be going out on loan, just find it strange that he doesn’t get mentioned
I would estimate those chances at zero. We would not be signing Gilmour if we hoped/expected Skipp to return.
