I thought the ref was fair.

We battled and did all we could. So many players levels below the Italians.

We have 2 players who would get in their squad and thats a maybe. Bale and Ramsey.

They bring in Bastoni from Inter we have Chris Gunter. Which on the subject says a lot of what they think of Cabango. Verratti from PSG up against a Stoke 31 year old and a Luton reserve.

Chiesa gave Nico a torrid time but he will learn from it. He really needs to replace Connor Roberts at right back.

Anyway Kiefer back to start and shoot us to the last 8.

I thought Roberts did well at rb. The majority of their attacks and main danger came down our left flank.

Our midfield weren't at the races and our "false no. 9" whatever that is, Ramsey, spent most of the match defending and picking up Morrell's and Allen's mistakes.

You eould have thought Bale had learned not to lean back when striking the ball. He skied most of the free kicks he took for Tottenham, then the penalty and yesterday <doh>.

Very poor technique for someone of his experience and skill level.

Agree with that. Neco offers more than Roberts, but not on the left - he was clearly out of position.

In the absence of Ben Davies (the only true LB in the squad) I can understand Page putting Neco in on that side from a defensive point of view, but he was often on the wrong foot tackling and often struggled to keep the ball the correct side of the touchline.

I know it was against italy and we didn't have to win the game, but a more adventurous option would have to play left footed Norrington-Davies there - he can get up and down the line and link well with Dan James. It would then be up to who Page wanted at RB - either Connor Roberts or Neco Williams. Both decent players who give 100%, but for me Neco has the edge.

Was hoping for Finland TBH. If not them then Russia....

Ah well, another big test. The Danes are running riot tonight now.

Will they be allowed fans unlike Wales?
It seems frankly ridiculous that they can have a bouncing stadium of fans to spur them on.

Danes banned as well but harder to enforce due to easier travel links and not much difference between Danish and Dutch ladies - tall, blonde and generally very good looking. <whistle>

Much easier to identify Danish blokes due to Viking helmets!!!
 
Just seen on BBC Wales News, Danish fans told they can travel provided in and out of Holland in 12 hours. Yeah, right.

That's easily enforced. Not!!!
 
The key is Bale and Ramsey. If they are at the top of their games I reckon we pull it off.

The worry is a weak midfield 2 of Allen and Morrell. Mepham and Roberts.

Williams could solve the right back issue but he will pick Roberts.
