We need to share the goals out more , even two players getting 15 goals each equates to one Wyke (30),also gives us the chance to vary our attacking style more
I hope I dont come across as Johnsons cheerleader, but I do think he is a mile ahead of Parkinson and made a huge difference. However I too saw some worrying signs toward the end, particularly one press conference after the match where he said we had targeted a clean sheet. It felt a bit negative when we were in that bad run and in need of wins and bravery. I also agree on Wyke, there were games in the run in he looked to be waiting for something rather than making things happen, which I thought he did well in the post Christmas period.I really enjoy reading your posts, but I noticed that Wykes old habits had returned in the run in , probably those last 10 or so games, he kept running behind defenders instead of across them hoping for a mistake rather than trying to beat them to the ball, I think that was the main reason for his ineffective contributions. This makes me wonder about LJ, who kept leaving him on for the duration of every game, rather than try something different, as alternatives were available but never tested, this is a real concern for me, but I watch with interest.

Next season is big for Johnson. He needs to get it right, and if he doesnt I am sure he will go, which is fair enough. I dont buy into the 10 games to get it right though, I would be patient with any manager. Hopefully he does, I would have few quid on him getting it right, but I am often wrong...
Who the hell's that? Get him signed.every one of his goals. 15 headers and 16 with his feet. Some very, very good finishes in among them too. Including a few 1v1s. Surprising just how good some of the finishes are.
he seems to get stick fir most being “one touch finishes” too. Give me a striker who can score without needing the second touch any day!

Sorry Rog but Curry is playing for Fort Lauderdale FC in USL League 1, their 3rd tier.you asked compare Wyke to Defoe post 119 i did and yes i agreed with you, but listing his faults i shocked myself and we will be well rid of him, if Curry had been given the opportunities he has had, we can only speculate but he is plying his trade in America and scoring goals against european starts like Defoe did
Agree partly. But I think there’s a lot more blame to lay elsewhere for our lack of promotion. Last if all on goals from midfield, we hardly had any!!I don't think your wrong but I believe that until we replace him we will be no more than a decent League one team, and can forget all about promotion.
My strongest subject
obviously not yours
I’ll lay it out for you “for each goal (g) he missed dozens of easy chances (ec)”
so ec = g x 12
g= 30(as he got 30 goals).means Ec = 360.
ergo…. Over 300 easy chances using your numbers
and I’m being kind. Using “dozens” as one dozen rather than multiples
you didn’t say numerous or a few. You said “dozens”. A definitive number

This pretty much sums up my view. I think if he stays he will do well again, but would probably need to accept a less pivotal role as I think the team will set up differently. One of our problems last season was we only really had creativity out wide so we had to play for crosses in the box. This season I am sure we will have more creativity in the middle (i hope that is Neil) which will require a different type of forward making different types of runs.Agree partly. But I think there’s a lot more blame to lay elsewhere for our lack of promotion. Last if all on goals from midfield, we hardly had any!!
I’d have no issue with wyke staying as I saw what he was capable of. But, and this is the strangest of feelings for a 30 goal striker, I also have no issue with him leaving! I’d have liked to see a lot more if Stewart, particularly, as you say, in those games where Wyke’s goals dried up (most of the last 12 or 13 I think) and I absolutely agree there are probably better options elsewhere too.
give over...I'm still wondering where the 300 was mentioned.?? Just accepting you were wrong then?

Scored 30, missed dozens for each one he scored. Ergo missed 300 or more chances.give over...I'm still wondering where the 300 was mentioned.![]()

Clutching at straw for this 300 mate.Scored 30, missed dozens for each one he scored. Ergo missed 300 or more chances.
