Not a great start is it ?
Nope. The only way they'll be peace in that area is if Israel annexes Palestine or the Jewish people find another homeland.

A brutal decision has to be taken if this **** and suffering is to end.

I think a two state solution can be found. But tbh it’s going to take a generation or two for it to ever bed in, because this lot (on both sides) just want to wipe each other out.

I've already said on here before mate, when I watched the Hamas leader being interviewed, he said there will be no peace without justice. He wants Jews completely irradicated from the area. So when people think removing Netty will remove the problem, far from it, if anything we will probably see even more people killed.

Hamas don't want a two state solution, what part of that don't you understand?

Netanyahu gone is a good thing, but you’re right in that it will take massive compromise from Hamas to ever get anywhere near peace.

I suppose the hope is that the new coalition are far more moderate than Likud and in turn it tempers Hamas, but again... they’ve poked the Tiger again today with those incendiary balloons

See my last. It will either take massive compromise on their behalf or they will need to be replaced by another part of the Palestinian authority.

Hamas won't compromise mate. Their leader spoke of being the force within the Middle East, that all other organisations respect, when I say respect, I'm talking fear of their capability.

Hamas, don't care about human life, even if it means sacrificing their own. It's akin to watching Japanese Kamikaze pilots, and the only way, Japan were stopped was by the atomic bomb.

I'm not painting the Israilis any better, they are not. It's wrong what has happened in Gaza, but it really is a case of kill or be killed. Sorry to say that, but I've not seen anything to be convinced otherwise.

The US along with the UK will paint Hamas as cowards because they hide amoung families, but it's no different to what the resistance did in WW2, and that got lots of innocent lives killed.

If you went to Israel and Palestine I think both sides would end up kicking your head in out of pure frustration.

I commend your attitude of 'peace is the only option' and plowing on regardless with it but do you think they'll ever be a time when you throw your hands up and admit that living peacefully side by side isn't an option, anymore?

Trying to force peace on two sides who don't want it could potentially cause the situation to become even more volatile.

I was actually thinking that, that if you went out there and tried to discuss compromise, you probably wouldn't get out alive as a meddling Brit. Piskie don't understand this especially when he only has rocks to talk to down in Cornwall. <whistle>

Yeah. It’s ****ed mate.

I think you have to try and work towards peace no matter how bleak the outlook is, coz the alternate is just giving up and battering each other to death forever. But I’m under no illusion that it’s an idealistic standpoint to take

How will the Militant Palestinian leadership fill their swiss bank accounts if they seek peace? Arafat didn't die poor you know.

I was reading an article about the Greenpeace protestor at Munich, that came down on the pitch during EURO 2020. How snipers had to consider whether they needed to shoot him down.

It brought to mind the Munich massacre at the Olympics in 1974. I'd never realised until reading it just now, that the massacre motive was due to the Israeli - Palestinian conflict.

This is what you call an invasion and ethnic cleansing.
