Im not into grime. Not one bit, but i rate stormzy for what he's done for his genre, but a frw years ago he let drake come in stage with him (brits or glasto cant remember) anyways at the time drake was promoting his own album and obviously they decided to do that show together.

Everyone seemed to lap it up, drakes massive, as is stormzy over here.

But for me it was a massive sell out from the brit, sure he deffo added a few zeros to his value, perhaps more attention from the yanks and because it was spontaneous they both got great publicity from it.

But if it was me id have publicly told drske to duss, this is my music, and you aint jumping on my bandwagon. Do ya own thing.

I took offence to how he let him on stage with him at his own show and licked his arse like it was a privilege.

Then drake proceeded to put some brittish slang words in his songs for a bit and sound like a complete **** doing too.

For me he was mocking.

He have got more publicity and props imo by telling him to **** off, instead he let drake take the piss out of his music and thanked him for it.

But as soon as grime goes mainstream, it loses the very essence of what it's about.

Was born out of the garage scene cos after so solid the raves rurned from nice to aggy. And thats cos of the tunes, tunes like are u really from the ends, too many man, eskimo beats, skepta was part of that aggro scene too.

Joyner released his best tracks and hyped the rest of the album like something huge was coming, kept everyone waiting and then it dropped like a stinking jonny full of spunk.

Name the last album released by any hip hop artist that you could listen to front to back without a skip...

Pre-2005 I reckon I could name about 10-15 easy. After then I’d struggle to name 1. The genre has changed and it’s on its arse.

Probs Kendrick Lamar. Good Kid BAAD city. Think that was 2015. But even that was a rare gem in a sea of banal ****.

A proper hip hop album with sick flows and a strong message just seems confined to the past now. Next big thing to blow up will probs come from the streets of Aleppo or Mogadishu.
