They probably didn’t anticipate just quite how ridiculous a reaction five seconds of kneeling would provoke. More fool them. It’s their fault men twice their age will think booing is a perfectly normal response.

They knew the knee was controversial because of the political connotations. They've chosen to persist. They'll get booed and shouldn't whinge about it.

Because of the poitical connotations you choose to associate with it. The england manager and some of their players have chosen to explain the situation and hopefully, true English fans, wanting their team to do well and also wanting to highlight racism within the sport wont boo. Im sure there will be a few furious gammons that do boo, most likely not even having the feintest idea what they are booing for.

In other news, i see Priti Vacant has been accused of misleading MPs yet again. If true, why is it we live in times of incompetence, lying and corruption being rewarded instead of punished.

Why do you think linking arms is not a suitable alternative? Clubs do it in solidarity with Kick Out Racism

Ive not mentioned linking arms mate, think you have me confused with someone else.
Many things have been tried with the 'kick it out' message. I was involved in one of the first programmes whilst doing one of my badges and to be honest, nothing previously done has had people talking about it as much as players taking the knee. I dont care much for them taking the knee, but it also doesnt bother me that they do. There werent too many boos or concerns raised when it first happened, so maybe Ellers is right, people are just bored of it rather than thinking like you do.

I suggested linking arms in the post you said was a crock of ****.

It's interesting that John Barnes is against the knee as gesture politics. He wants action on knife crime. Can't argue with that.

It is interesting i agree and it wont change anything. Racists will still be racists but if they choose to do it, so be it, if they choose not to then so be it. Linking arms would be no different either but i wouldnt be bothered if they did. Social media is the starting place and life time bans from such aswell as from grounds.

If they linked arms, the whole English support would applaud (bar the odd racist)

Agree about social media and ground bans for those racially abusing players. It's vital they are tracked down and prosecuted.

Scotland will not be taking the knee at the Euros, preferring to stand up to racism.

That’s the great thing about headlines. You can throw in a number like £333m and have numerically illiterate flag-molesters clapping like seals.

160,000 tonnes of fish in 2021! That’s fantastic! What a win! Rack that one up to the Boris magic, and hard man Frost’s stunning negotiating,

Here’s how much they caught in 2019

So are we taking a cut? It’s really fun to double check stuff, even stuff which makes you erect and engorged with nationalistic pride.
