I think the major difference is that past performance element.

It might look identical to you, but to us you have an unending history of not listening, accepting you are wrong or even accepting alternative views as plausible.

Whereas take Dunc, he has a history of accepting people disagreeing with him (other than in relation to his opinion on Asian women). I am not sure he has always been gracious in doing so (Lewis Grabban ahem), but he is at least accepting of other views all the time and has changed his view in response to healthy debates.

So yes, it is double standards with you I'm afraid. It means that you do need to go the extra mile to show what is your opinion (and you will accept challenges to it) and what is fact. At the moment, there's still no sign you will - you are still yet to admit being wrong on things (and will recall that on one occasion you admitted being wrong, before promptly retracting that). So that's your past performance.

The position as I see it from over here. Aarons - definitely gone. I suspect from Club statements made that a deal was agreed for him a couple of months ago.
Emi - If Arsenal really do want him then it is goodbye Emi for the best money City can get even if it doesn't match our valuation. If a Club like Villa are interested then we can take a firmer stance on valuation but he will still probably go.
Cantwell - Can't see an established Premiership being interested. Villa might if they don't get Emi but again we can be tough on price. On balance I think he will be here next season.
Can't see any other of the first team squad moving.
Incomings - Suspect they have all been agreed and the first we will know about them will be when the window opens. I also think that the cost of incomings will be limited to the fee already agreed for Aarons and the fee for Emi will be banked in the rainy day fund. Any signings will have to be players who fit into our wage structure so no big earners, like King, possible.

That's a good "rule of thumb" for this transfer season. If Emi goes for £40m and we have to give Getafe £8m that will just about cover our "covid loss" for 2020-21. Money to spend will come from selling and whatever portion of PL money to be earned next season SW wants to gamble with.

It's interesting that you think incomings have been agreed. Wouldn't that mean players leaving have already been decided, too?
 
If Aarons and Emi do go, my guess for the likeliest wanted incomings from those rumoured would be Kris Ajer at CB, Adam Armstrong as striker and/or wide player, Oli Skipp if we can get him on loan again, Ryan Christie at AM/CM and possibly Brandon Williams at RB. Angus Gunn at GK is also a possibility if we can afford him

I'm guessing Aarons to a huge club Buendia Arsenal and Cantwell a last minute surprise transfer £80m in the war chest for January

As I said, I think the deal for Aarons was agreed weeks ago and the Club must have realised that after last season, and because of his age, it was inevitable that a big Club were going to come calling with Arsenal the obvious suiters.

Yes, if SkySports are right about this and Arsenal are getting close it could be time to wish Emi well with thanks for all that he's done, but the Pinkun is still saying that no bids have been received as of lunch time yesterday:

"Buendia's future has dominated much of the off-season noise to date, with Arsenal and Aston Villa reported to have made bids for City's star man. We understand that isn't the case, although interest is hotting up in the creative midfielder."

It's hard to know whether reports of bids are just 'creative journalism' or SW is just staying tight lipped about it. If Emi does go, he will leave a huge gap to fill.

As for incomings the Pinkun reports:

"Celtic's Kristoffer Ajer has confirmed a decision needs to be made on his future as reports suggest City are preparing to table a bid for the 23-year-old. The Norway international has joined Koln defender Sebastiaan Bornauw and Fulham's Tosin Adarabioyo on their defensive wishlist. Angus Gunn remains a name City are interested in providing they can't agree terms with Orjan Nyland. City are hoping to sign two additional central midfielders and a winger this summer, although are understood to have moved on from ex-Bournemouth man Josh King."

One, if not two, of the Sky Sports Team have very good links and contacts with Arsenal so I suspect they are right. Abameyang, when fully fit, is a more refined version of Pukki and will greet Emi with open arms so the move makes a lot of sense.

The money might be right for us, and Arsenal might want him, but does anyone really think that Arsenal would be the best move for Emi? The club is plagued by disunity, the first team squad needs a major overhaul and, given Kroenke's parsimony, coupled with having missed out yet again on Europe, Arteta's hands are very much tied. It's a mess that isn't going to be sorted quickly. Why would Emi want to go there?

Try earning 3 times as much for starters!!! The Club is not plagued by disunity, the squad is being given a major overhaul by Arteta, the owner knows he has got to provide funds and they will be challenging for honours next season with players such as Abameyang, Saka, Smith-Rowe, Pepe, Partey, Tierney etc. None of the other top Clubs need a player such as Emi but Arsenal do, to get the best out of Abameyang, and Emi will not be the only signing Arsenal make. Where else is he going to go in the PL better than Arsenal?

Arsenal would be a perfect fit for Buendia, they play exciting quick passing football London is a fun place for foreign players and the weather is better than up North.

I used to regularly go to Arsenal games when ai lived there and I like them.
