Maybe, but we're talking about England...

Owen and Hargreaves both played in the 2002 WC btw
Owen scored the goal against Brazil. Fck me I'm getting old, I'd forgotten that.
I went to look who played RB. Fck knows.
This stat makes me want to cry ...

Compared to our rivals? It seems high but what’s the benchmark?
Gary Neville's England career is all down to Rob Jones being injured all the time. From what I remember of Rob, he was a bloody brilliant right back and by far the best England had at that time
Seem to remember Jones got injured just about every time England were about to announce tournament squads.Jones was good.
Lucky that nicol could play LB just as well as RB and was on the way out as a man with many many problems with the drink.
however was jones any better than neville? probably not.
It was a real pity jones got that back injury. imo he never recovered.

I did think at the time that his tournament was over. He had his injury without any other player near him and he couldn’t even walk off the pitch.
Give it time...Jordan Henderson is the only England player in the announced squad to have been to 3 European Championships.
2012, 2016 & 2021.
All that media fuss for weeks about Trent being in the Euros squad and five minutes in...
Bathos.
