See Robinson on debut has had to apologise for tweets he sent 10 years ago as an 18 year old that have suddenly come about. Thing with this is, yea never should have sent them but who hasn’t said something stupid as a joke when they were a teenager that they don’t actually believe? Its the people that go and find these tweets and make them public that I worry about. Why are they doing it for starters and surely by making it public, you just make those remarks more available for people to see?
Apparently he was a bit of bellend when he was younger. Got sacked by Yorkshire for partying alot and not in Leeds or Yorkshire, he was travelling back down to Kent to go drinking with his mates.
Yeah he admitted himself he wasn’t the best when young but has turned himself around the past 3-4 years which is good to see abs getting his rewards now. Shame all this has come about after making his debut and taking couple wickets on day 1

Well 10 years ago racism was still not acceptable. I could understand a few pre me too female jokes from young men. We all know the sort of thing young men say and do even if weve learned since to think twice. (Not sure teenagers today agree mind) Dont know what he said but if he is stupid enough not to have deleted those accounts if he did "sort" himself then more fool him. It's not for men to decide that's sexist now. Anything that generalised about females is now far games as far as I can tell. The story is that someone was sent by an editor to dig every angle on the guy and they had to trawl 1000s of social media posts to find a few that suited their purpose to make a story. Probably have means to search quickly for terms and they pop out It's part of the year them down mentality. He was not chased until he got an england call.
What it also does is polarise the population even more and emboldens the actual racists who'll point to this, claim all accusations of racism are a farce and part of a left-wing woke agenda. I think some things are best left in the past. For me it's ALWAYS about the intent. And those jokes show someone making stupid jokes but not necessarily meaning anything sinister.
