This goes beyond the ballot box and populism imo, there’s serious allegations of potential criminal levels of incompetence here.

It should be noted that Hancock will be giving his evidence in a fortnight, he’s going to have a few sleepless nights between now and then I’d wager.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that's true. The Cabinet is filled with incompetent lightweights that would never have made it to the top under governments of 10+ years ago. The calibre of those in charge is the lowest it's ever been. I also don't doubt Boris said "Let the bodies pile high" - not because he's evil, but because he's an arrogant arsehole who believes his own hype and didn't for one second believe it would happen. He said it because he thought it was just a scare story. No different to Trump's attitude towards it.

The only way this will lead to anyone being held to account is if the focus remains on the families of those who have lost loved ones as a result of the government's incompetence and indifference being shown here. Because ultimately that's the most serious and indefensible outcome and the one that really matters. They'll do their damnedest to divert away from it though.

Hancock will be sacrificed then everyone will get back to the trough.

This countries to broken for anyone to care or do anything.
I care, and I’d wager you do to, as do many others on here, on either side of the ‘pick your side’ political football match this shower of absolute **** have created with their faux culture war.

So whilst people care, there’s always hope for change, this goes beyond politics for me. This Govt are corrupt and incompetent, if they cleared them out to replace them with Tories who actually had some integrity, honesty and morals I could live with that.

Boris Johnson is nothing more than a chancer who has bullshitted his way to the top. And now he’s at the top we can all see how ****ing **** he is.

It’s a massive failing of the checks and balances that should be in place to stop absolute incompetents like Johnson from holding high office.

Same here.

Keep Rishi Sunak, bring back Jeremy Hunt, Andrew Mitchell, David Davis, always liked Graham Bradey, to name a few and I'd even have Steve Baker in there.

Patel, Hancock, Cleverley and the rest of the lying rat ****s in that Cabinet get rid!

We'll probably end up with Jacob Rees Mogg as PM though <laugh>

I’d personally give Sunak the swerve, I thought he was alright until I read recently that he invited the free market capitalists behind that bollocks ‘Great Barrington declaration’ to No.10 last September, so he can join the rest of them in the ****ing bin for me.

As for David Davis, the man’s an absolute moron, no ta. Steve Baker? You’re surely taking the piss now? <laugh>

Oh ffs, didn't know he'd done that but I'd guess there's defo an Indian connection there btw.

Mate firstly there's not much calibre to choose from <laugh> and secondly they're Tories so you got to make allowances <laugh>
Steve Baker, when you take all the Brexit **** away actually comes across as a decent bloke, and even during the Brexit 'conflict' he never got into stupid gammon remarks or jingoistic claptrap, he always based it on principle and considered argument and I respect him for that.

We are unfortunately still in the after throws of the split from the referendum .
It's not the old Labour voters and Tory voters .
It will take a while for all this to shake out but theres still a lot of people sticking along with their support for him .
We are looking at a good few years before this changes.

I'll reserve judgement on Starmer except to say sometimes he lacks a punch. But agree the opposition is weak as piss at the moment. That equally is not good for the country as much as a **** government.

Question for anyone, because I honestly don't know....

Regardless of whom Cummings blames for incompetence today, why can't he be arrested by the cops, call it what you like, admittance to a crime being commited, party to corporate manslaughter, knowledge of a crime being commited.

Surely there must be someway this fooker can be dragged in. Then he can squeal as loud as he likes, at least i'd have the satisfaction of knowing he's doing from police or prison cell. It would be the best use of public money, compared to shhite show he was involved in.

I feel somehow this prick thinks he's immune because he's playing the game, well time for justice to get even, drag him in, and take it from there or are they immune if they've held government office?

Cummings was merely a SPAD, albeit the PM’s chief advisor, but he didn’t hold a Cabinet position and was therefore not in a position of ultimate responsibility.

What he said today about Hancock and the care homes i.e. that Hancock made the shout to move elderly patients out of hospitals and back to care homes, whilst having been told by NHS leaders that testing them all before that happened was impossible to deliver. Means that (if true) Hancock openly lied to both the Cabinet and the public about the the reality of what was happening, and he was basically knowingly sending the virus into care homes that ended up killing thousands of our elderly and some of the staff.

If proven, that’d be potentially be criminal negligence imo, but there’s no chance it’s going anywhere down the CPS route with this lot in power. So, as ever, it’d fall to private prosecutions and a potential group tort or class action by the families of the bereaved.

Cummings himself can’t be culpable, irrespective of what his opinion or input was, as he didn’t have the authority to make the calls that mattered. The buck stops with the ministers and the PM.

I don’t like any politician as they’re all self serving but to say that they could be charged for man slaughter is bloody ridiculous.

Where there’s a blame, there’s a claim culture

also reading abe saying that Hancock helped kill thousands, but I thought he said this virus had less chance of killing him than a jab giving him blood clots. Cannot make it up

My background, means that I would be expected to vote labour …..thick and thin. What I do is vote locally for who I think will make a difference. I sat in the early days of Blair looking at a bright future, but again he was just PR and broken promises. Nothing changes, the cycle continues.

I vote Tory on local elections, because I’m in a Tory / Lib Dem county and have worked for the council. The Tory councillors are far better than the Lib Dem’s I dealt with.

With the general I vote green

I think during this whole pandemic, the opposition party have been more destructive that constructive. Time and time again, pointing the finger at Tories without a credible plan themselves.

They made mistakes for sure and for sure will be held to account when this shhite fest is over. But there's a reason Labour have lost, time after time, after time at the ballot box - and only a few weeks ago, Starmer promised once again, we will change.

What happens, the next set of revelations by Cummings is seized on with opportunity once again. So Labour again not changing.

Cummings the most despised person in number ten, was suddenly being listened to by those that hate the Tories. A proven liar, he even admitted he lied over Barnard Castle, and I still don't think he's told the truth, and if we were to scratch at Jeremy Hunt, he is sceptical as well.

The disgruntled ex employee, yes I say it again, that's exactly what he is, a nasty, vindictive little man. A man that was at the forefront of number ten, the man that had more power than most politicians, allowed all his claims, to happen on his watch. The man that stuck two fingers up to the public over Barnard.

Cummings spits his dummy out, and hopefully no one will come within a mile of employing this turd ever again. Let's also remember as of yet, he has provided no evidence.

I always felt it was bad choice that Boris kept him close, let alone share a same room with him. When Cummings walked I was pleased. Now he's had his say, he can fook off back to his hole and hopefully keep himself safe.

In the meantime, while the vaccine is still be rolled out, Labour will do what they always do, and the SNP will be concentrating more on independence. There is no credible opposition, so the truth is they are ALL guilty!
