The draw is still the favourite I think, Leics need to score at over 7 an over. More chance of Hants bowling them out.
There was zero chance of Leicester ever trying to chase this. Even going at 5 per over in these conditions is nigh on impossible, let alone 7 an over. Granted, we were also never going to take 10 wickets in 22 overs, but choosing to forfeit our second innings was 100% the right call.
Somerset get a second batting point, only 19 overs left to get a third but Abell and Gregory going well.
At least we're giving NZ something to watch whilst quarantining. I'd have shaken hands and walked off by now.
Some idiot spectator has just run on to the pitch. Hopefully he’ll be banned for life from all sporting venues.
Somerset get the 3rd batting point at 300-8 and Abell immediately declares to stop Gloucester getting their 3rd bowling point. Tom Abell denies himself a chance of improving on his career best first class score of 135 by declaring on 132!
Just noticed Hants play Somerset on 3rd June, the day after the NZ test starts. Overton and Leach are in the squad. If they are both unavailable for Somerset that week it will give Hants a huge boost.
I imagine we’ll play Marchant De Lange (the Marchant of Menace) instead of Craig O and Roelof van der Merwe instead of Leach. We’ll be fine.
Oh fair enough! Overton is the form of his life this season. 14-2. A night watchman in the form of Tom Smith emerges, which is a strange decision I feel.
Would llike Surrey to win tomorrow to make things more interesting within the group. Shame about Leicester, but Middlesex deserve to be where they are!! Playing abject cricket and not a spinner in sight.
Unfortunately for you, all this amounts to is getting 3 bowling bonus points. Rain in Bristol is forecast from 2pm so no chance of you taking 15 more wickets.
