All the other interventions, no matter what you say, have clearly exhibited violence or policies against the US. the US didn't intervene in the Syrian Civil war either bar strikes against IS. The contradiction is you sayin "they can do what they want whenever it suits them" when that very post shows, its not whenever it suits them at all. It has to have a strategic or defensive point.
