So if you dont take it seriously you dont win it .
Otherwise smaller clubs like Spurs and Newcastle would win it .
I mean Bewcastle ain't win anything in my lifetime
They can take it seriously due to the size and quality of thier squad.

In fact they can take every competition they're in seriously because they can play thier 1st 11 on Wednesday and another 1st 11 of equal quality on Saturday, then out of those two 1st teams they can rest all of them and chuck another quality side out for the carling cup on a friday.

City get no credit for nothing from me. Ever.

Bro you're talking about a completely different football landscape there, the old European Cup format, drinking culture in football at the time.

I cant really speak on it as I was in nappies, but my point was that City can afford to take all comps seriously, more than anyone else due to thier squad size and quality.

Take out their 1st team and play the other 1st team they have on the bench and the drop in quality is barely visable.

Im not sure Liverpool's squad in the 80s is comparable to that tbh? Like I said I was baby

They where the richest Club at the time just like Man city now .
Credit to man city for taking it seriously .

Yep, winners should definitely qualify for a CL spot.

Let us not forget though, for lower league punters like @brb and @Commachio , the FA Cup is all about Crawley Town vs Leeds, and such like. That’s it’s real magic tbf.

Yeah for me the magic is early stages now more than anything. Round 1 is one of my favourites dates on the football calendar.

We was? <laugh>

Peps not a managerial genius and people bigging up city like they are a gift to all of football and we should all be grateful they can buy everything before them make me sick.:emoticon-0119-puke:

You should switch teams like Welshie if you love them so much.

4 in a row, probably win the next 4 too.

That will help bring back the interest in the fa Cup eh<laugh>

That's my point, The FA and tv have taken the prestige away.
Back in the day it was one of the few live domestic TV games of the season, and it was therefore a date not to be missed for football fans.

The PL TV coverage ended its exclusivity and it was always on the Saturday following the last league game of the season, now it’s been moved and replays have been done away with, that doesn’t help imo, but now we have live togger on virtually daily. Prestige is in the eye of the beholder imo, and for me it’s still the biggest and best domestic cup competition in the World. I’ll always love the FA Cup.

Is the FA Cup Final even on normal TV these days?

Like ITV or BBC?
