My All time East Anglian XI

Kevin Keelan
George Burley
Mick Mills
Russell Osman
Terry Butcher
John Wark
Mike Phelan
Arnold Muhren
Frans Thjssen
Paul Mariner
Chris Sutton

Lots to choose from like Bowen, Culverhouse, Eadie, Bruce, Beattie, Hunter, Whymark, Dyer, Stringer, Chris Woods

Perhaps we could do a seperate Post to run on both boards that will keep us arguing the toss for a good while! <ok>

Keelan in front of Cooper???

you're having a laugh, JWM!

what we need for an All Time East Anglian XI is a balanced team containing at least 5 players from each club...

that would be a challenge!

<ok>

Tell you what, with the best of the two clubs players, and given our traditions, an all time side would play football to make you drool!!

ok, how about...

... Keelan

Culverhouse Butcher Beattie Bowen

Crook Thyssen Muhren Wark

Sutton Bellamy

not bad for starters??

<ok>

Tad surprised you didn't go for Mariner as one of the strikers Welly. After all, he did it with Arsenal as well didn't he?

Got to admit, this is going to be bloody difficult.

Hate to say it, but the 1st 2 names on my teamsheet would be Wark and Butcher. <yikes>

Thats some fearsome sight actually. Butcher, complete with his blooded bandage and Warky's good looks. Put the fear of God into anyone, as well as being able to play a bit.

Welly I think you have cracked it! <applause>

Thats a great shout!

Not sure about Sutton though! Paul Mariner was far better!

True...I could have gone for Ray Crawford too!!

but with a mid like that providing the bullets for the front two, and Warky coming in to add the goals from the mid, i don't think it's a bad shout...Sutton should have stayed at Norwich, probably would have done if it hadn't have been for Robert Chase! <yikes>

The awesome thing is that Johnny scored 36 Goals from midfield in just one season! No strikers these days will ever get near that total! <ok>

When he moved to Liverpool he got 24 Goals in his first season. The man is a legend!

what's your All Tme East Anglian XI, Maestro???

at least 5 players from both our clubs, balance the team...

<ok>

Here goes then. I'll now get ready to get shot down in flames....

Keelan
Culverhouse, Butcher, Watson, Viljoen,
Peters, Wark, muhren,
Mariner, Ashton, Woods (Clive)

Subs: Woods (Chris), Sutton, Fox, Gates, Osman, Thissen (sp) Huckerby.

Manager: Sir Bobby.

There you go Welly. What's your thoughts on that team?

hmmm...4-3-3...interesting...

Viljoen was a midfielder so not sure you've got him in position, perhaps play your team 4-4-2 with Viljoen in the mid and Clive Woods as an attacking wingback??

decent squad tho!

<ok>

Maybe it's my fading memory Welly, but when i was at primary school, I could have sworn Coiln Viljoen was classed as a LB according to my football cards.
It was a long time ago though in my days of black and white tv. The only way I could get colour tv was by putting quality street wrappers over my eyes.
