Connections must have been disappointed that Postileo missed the cut re getting into the old ‘Chester Cup’. And I’ll be disappointed if he doesn’t win the consolation race (4.20) of the morrow. I think, in time, Postileo will take high rank in the staying division so off 92 he makes a lot of appeal at the Roodee. Bet365’s current quote of 4/1 looks more than fair, methinks.

Good luck all.

While I’m on I don’t know if anyone has noticed it but there will be a very sizable consignment from Seven Barrows at the ‘Horses In Training’ sale later in the month. Restocking and getting the championship back and all that. What, what?!?

Included is Pym who to me has always been a ‘cusp’ horse who has been about to take the next step but never quite made it. This comment applies to his career in bumpers, over hurdles and over the big ‘uns. Would be most intriguing to see if he is sold whether new connections can get him to take the leap to that next level. Although would be mega difficult as you can not, of course, improve on the perfection that is Lieutenant Henderson. And with a chase rating of 148 he would need to step up, anyway.

Away from Seven Barrows I see that the Frankel 5YO, Home Fire, who made a most eye-catching debut in that hot Ayr bumper (the one that Sprinter Scare won several years ago) recently has also been entered. I guess Home Fire, given that run and his lineage, will go for a bally fortune.

We've had low draws at sprints, we've had a Dascombe ( or 2 ), we've had Franny of course, now the last piece of the Chester jigsaw is Dr Koukash.

4.50 Heart of Soul

Not sure about the Chester Cup, so a safe each way on Who Dares Wins perhaps?

Here's hoping to attend in person on one of the 3 days next year.

Have a great day all and best of luck. :emoticon-0148-yes:

must admit out of all the racing i have seen in the past year I really think the crowds are missed more than ever at a venue like Chester

I didn't realise the Tote were "BOG" (ie guaranteed to return no less than the SP). Not sure when that came in but that has to be a big boost for Tote backers

Market Rasen 1:00 Shabba Dada Do

Has hinted a bit of promise in every of his 3 runs in a handicap when racing prominently for a long way but didn't see the trip out. On a career-low mark today and with talented Abbie McCain riding for her father in this conditional event I've the feeling Shabba Dada Do will show an improved display on his third run after a wind surgery.

In the first at Market Rasen Tardree is interesting back over 2 m on good ground. Adam Wedge is a positive booking and Market Rasen should suit Tardree's prominent style of racing. First time combo of tongue strap and visor could eak out some improvement.

Excellent E/W value. LordGyllene :emoticon-0148-yes:

Have missed the price slightly but looks like Jonjos is off in the 2.00 at market rasen , Tomorrow he’s off 121, 8lbs lower than his last winning mark. He loves good ground

I'm on that too, but I note a lot of money for the Tom Lacey horse in that race.

In the upcoming race at Market Rasen I wouldn't be surprised if I Just Know runs well for each way purposes. Was 2nd on only visit to Market Rasen some years ago. 16lb below last winning mark and stable who usually does well at this track is in form. This bottom weight is worth a small each way bet.
