(post above this)Be interesting to see how this is dealt with from any legal perspective, in regards to if the Prem League took any action against the club, or whether Man Utd take any actions against supporters.
The reason I say that is because these were not paying supporters, and those inside the ground were trespassers. Firstly you would have to prove affiliation with the club, by either them being season ticket holders or registered on the club data base against those arrested or mug shots of those in the ground.
It's as much as social issue as it is a football problem, after all any numpty could tag along to cause trouble for the heck of it. Sort of thing Sucky would do, afterall he normally praises people that beat up cops under the banner of protest.

i agree with the principal about the protest. fans been sold down the river.
just a thought, if these owners care so much about the growing market, especially in Asia, why not sell up, and go do an Asian super league thing....
There will be plenty of CCTV and mobile footage of those who smashed **** up and assaulted officers, so I would think they will probably be brought to task by the Police.
I don't think there's much that Man Utd could have done differently, they were right to postpone the game
How many man hours of scrolling through footage do you think that takes, then linking them to data bases, you really think the police force has the time let alone financial resources to do all of that. They will identify maybe a handful of the most troublesome and then call it a day.
Btw I never suggested Man Utd could have done anything differently, nor have I suggested they should be punished. I was more highlighting the fact it's more of a social issue unless you can prove affiliation to the club, as no supporters were allowed to attend the game.
What about gnev? Should be charged with inciting a riot.I think the Glazers should face some form of punishment, according to fans at the ground today, the club put up extra barriers and other protections to safeguard both fans, players and opposition support, but failed to pay any extra security to man those barricades.
Even when it comes to a protest against their money grubbing and lack of investment, the Glazers still cut corners and got coppers injured.
But, again, we come back to the same old question. How do you punish them, who will be most affected by punishment, what is legally possible. It's all a mess and suspect nothing will be done.

Been stoking the flames for exactly this from fans ever since the els fiasco.

i agree with the protests, and admire the utd fans, but once you start slashing copper, it's a whole new ball game. The Police do it all the time after public order offences. Mug shots will go up and the police will seek to identify and prosecute those that they can. But I agree it will probably only be a handful of the most disruptive protesters.
And yeah I wasn’t suggesting that Utd should be punished either, just commenting on the fact that they did the right thing to postpone the game. There wasn’t a lot else they could have done to prevent what happened today.
