Apparently our wage bill is second only to city now. I find it hard to think we spend 40m more than both united and chelsea? If true guess that’s maybe why we haven’t been spending big in market.

If you actually look at the accounts, the difference between the 2 clubs is down to the number of non footballing staff employed. Liverpool directly employ about 400 more full time staff than City, they also directly employ circa 2000 matchday only staff. If you do the maths that likely accounts for somewhere between £15-20m p.a.

Which begs the question, do lfc have way too many non footballing staff if city are managing the business side with 400 less, or are city doing something big dodgy to hide the costs of some of their staff? Was talk few years ago of city being iffy with payments via a 3rd company to get round ffp
They were accused of that in the publication of the leaked e-mails ( Spiegel ? ) in relation to Mancini being given very lucrative "work" by an associated company but that sort of "fiddle" is always going to be pretty hard to prove .
PS Should have furloughed the non playing staff
