Most underated is a lot easier for me, because I always felt that Oakley was massively underated. Le Tiss, Pahars, Beattie, even Marsden, got a lot of credit (and rightly so) but I felt that Oakley didn't. As for overated. Well present is clearly Harding, massively overated. Past I would go for Delap or Anders Svensson. Delap for the price tag, Svensson for the hype and expectation which he arrived with.

It's Delap for me as well. 4 million is still a lot of money now and years ago it was even more (hence why it is still our record)! It has always baffled me how he has played almost all of his career in the premier league.
All I can say is that I'm happy that Nigel Adkins picks the team and not some of the fans. Guly is class and has proved his value with goals and assists since he has been here and NA knows his value to the team. I don't think any of the current squad is overrated as results and performances have been sensational for the past year and not a single player in the whole squad cost more than £2m.
Oakley is one of my all time favourites. If only he didn't get that ligament injury, I think he may have had an England Call up, even if it was just for a friendly.
Yep. Sadly scored an own goal for Exeter the other day, I believe. Bit disappointed that Exeter aren't doing as well as last season. Although of minor interest, I like to see South Coast clubs doing well. Anyway, a good player being wasted, IMO.

Everyone can have different views but just because hes not in the team doesnt mean he isnt any good. He has mattured a lot but maybe not enough for regular action. I think he has a great future.

The current squad is all overrated. All overrated by me, because right now I think they are world beaters and make my world a happy place! I sometimes think they are the best in the world, so I must have overrated them.
Frustrating as that was, I always felt that he relieved pressure off the defence when he did that. It was a form of "holding the ball up". I'd also ask James Beattie who he liked receiving crosses from most of all back then. At a glance, I'd agree with you as he was very frustrating, but I still think WGS made an error leaving him out the cup final team. He dropped him for Telfer to nullify Pires and Pires scored the winner. Is he overrated? Well actually HE thought he was the best player in the world, so yes, you're probably right.

Surprised nobody has said "Chicken George", but then by definition he wasn't actually overrated - we were just amazed he kept getting into the team. Pure entertainment though, such as a dazzling 50 yard run, beating 4 or 5 players then blasting over the bar from 5 yards out. Anyway, Delap purely for the money we spent and current squad hard to say but I'd go for Aaron Martin (as on here people rate him, but he gives me kittens. He will be good though as it's early days for him)
