Watford v Millwall
Watford host Millwall with the dream of promotion on the verge of becoming a reality. A win, or even a draw depending on other results, will mean an immediate return to the Premiership. Have a look at the table, I doubt anyone would have believed that second was in reach when Ivic was sacked. One win from three remaining games is what is needed. With Brentford away and Swansea at home to follow. The optimists might even feel we can make up the five point gap on leaders Norwich.
Muñoz, a surprise selection with little previous managerial experience has since managed to forge a team. Maybe, helped by having the players and stability his predecessor didn't have. Watford have surged up the table with a formidable run of wins broken by the occacional draw or loss. Three crafty Pozzo bargain signings also helped to beef up options, especially with Zinckernagel, Sanchez and Gosling adding to the midfield. Hughes and Masina back from injury has also helped.
On reflection the style has been chalk and cheese from the two managers but I personally think with hindsight Ivic did well to steady a rocking ship at the start of the season too. Muñoz, however, has certainly built on that with sixteen wins, three draws and four losses in his 23 games so far.
