we are a super power when it comes to money...you need to learn quick sharp that this super league isn’t about who’s won what...it’s about who are the teams with the biggest global potential.

until you accept the criteria you’ll carry on crying about why Spurs are part of it...it’s like youve all accepted why the others have been invited but can’t understand why Spurs have.

I know it’s about money. I think they’ve got it wrong this time. This looks to me like a catastrophically bad business decision.

The PL took a slice of working class culture, sanitised it, packaged it, and made a fortune selling the “product” around the world. But if the product gets too far away from it’s roots it’s a fair bet the product will die while the roots will sprout anew.

Go to a game in the Championship mate. League One even. All those clubs might be struggling financially, but you’ll be surprised at the passion on display. Take away the money and the game goes on. Take away the passion and the “product” dies.

Of course, I could be talking a load of old “Jumpers for Goalposts” bollocks. We’ll see.

I’ve been...went to watch Huddersfield in League 1 plenty times, even seen them play your lot once. Fans being shouty in the ground isn’t enough...the product isn’t great. It’s only great for those who support the teams, which is fine with me tbh but you’ll be hard pushed to sell it to anyone else.

You’re a Southampton fan that enjoys the riches offered by PL money like the Ings of this world yet crave mediocrity and jumpers for goalposts when playing the game. It won’t happen...you need to start hating your own club and what they are today instead of living in the past...I’m not for the super league btw...it’s just that I’m not up for fans crying about big fish eating little fish all of a sudden when I know on a weekly basis they strive off that very thing happening in the PL so long as a handful of teams are kept at bay...the same teams you got a bigger issue with joining this SL than others it seems.

Of course we are joining for the money...no one denying that. The stadium was built for the purpose of holding non football events in the hope of making money via non football means so that we can compete with clubs like Chelsea and City on the pitch. Why? Because the sheiks and gangsters took over some clubs and unless you are taken over by them then you got to find another way...the chase has been for glory. Spurs have been the only club outside the traditional top 4 who have been trying in a manner that you should all be commending instead most of the fans think we are a joke when the reality is barring about 4/5 clubs all your clubs would want to emulate us because that’s the natural way to success or at least giving yourself a half chance of achieving it, no guarantees.

Should have supported Spurs and given them some love when they were trying to break through...now they’ve ****ed everyone off and grasped the chance to become a big boy without the hard work...found themselves a home where the neutral will appreciate the product and badge.

someone gotta do it...these fans who’s clubs didn’t get the invite have all of a sudden forgotten their role in blowing smoke up the arses of the oligarch’s and sheiks when they were destroying the domestic competition which happened to be the domestic clubs they(these fans)dislike the most...was bantz then...now it’s serious and they all don’t get it.

On a serious note though...the PL needs the big 6, without them it loses its pazzaz.

Take this board for instance...imagine if all the fans of the top 6 are removed, this place would be left with a handful of posters from PL clubs and loads from league 1 etc

You’re conflating a number of issues in order to try and cobble together a defence of this idea and the involvement of your beloved Spurs.

The reason there’s uproar about this, has nothing to do with the money, the clubs involved, or tribal rivalries, it’s about robbing our game of the one thing that makes it so competitive - sporting merit. A closed shop European league removes merit from the equation and moves the game from a genuine competitive sport into the realms of Yank Entertainment.

So go take your Spurs top off and have a lie down.
