Well done to the team and management. Gave them a roasting for the Rotherham display but they came back ‘fighting’; scored some good goals and managed to hold on despite being a key man down and under fire. Sorry Mr Warnock but it’s always fun to take points off you (wherever you might be managing at the time). Into the top ten, we just need to keep the season driving to the end ...
... and maybe a positive goal difference :emoticon-0100-smile

Didn't watch the game today, but that really is an excellent result. Pleased for Lumley, who's not the total liability that some consider him to be, and it sounds like Dykes had another good game. Tenth place despite all the financial privations is quite an achievement.

Lumley made 2 great saves.

Makes it worth getting a few quid for Dieng then, right?:emoticon-0103-cool:

Unless you are in the promotion, playoff or relegation battles the position, for me, is less important than the points total, which I like to drone on about. A couple more wins gets us well into the 60s, a real improvement on recent seasons.

Hopefully not premature, but well done squad and coaches in, as you point out, our financial position.

Not if Lumley is the replacement.
I'm really pleased for him today, but I fear he isn't going to be consistently good enough.
Good enough for what is the question. Might need the cash to keep the incremental improvement going next season, without dreaming of promotion.

Although Warburton has already hinted that, with this squad, we might be aiming for that. Aw balls, I’ve doomed it.

I'd like us to aim for the top 6.

That should definitely be the aim.

Our current position re FFP must be relatively positive, so hopefully we won't be forced to sell. From 10th to 6th is not that much of a leap.

Probably need a better keeper than Lumley then.

Personally I think Dieng is good, but no better than Smithies, who is still a championship player.

It’s a 12 point leap at the moment. But this league is nuts, so anything’s possible, with a little consistency.

Consistency is the word. We'd be quite a bit better off if we just improved our record against the current bottom four!

I think Dieng is better than Smithies, although he does seem to have the odd bad decision in him.

If we can play like we have since January from the start next season...then add into it the "have to win this match" factor, which teams like Rotherham and Huddersfield have used to their advantage in the last few weeks.
We could actually get in top 6, with this squad...

But we need to keep going....
1. To encourage the board.
2. To encourage players like Dieng and Chair to stay with us next season.
3. To encourage good new players to join the gang.
