So a young professor Snape and Mcboatface, claim we have a decent squad?, so how come without all of this seasons injuries (that haven't helped I agree) were they so poor from January last year until the end of the season? A squad that used Korey Smith as their back up right back because other than Hunt they had no other specialist right back on the books (no wonder he wanted out), a squad that had to use Rowe for most of the season as it's left back because again other than the usually injured DaSilva (who I rate) we had no specialist back up left back and a midfield that would struggle against the women's team.
My argument would always be a decent squad would be far more consistent, not one that went on longish unbeaten runs and then long barren runs, not being regularly outplayed and bullied against the relegation fodder of this league.
I wholly agree with the very last sentence, SL has the biggest decision of his ownership of BCFC, he needs to get the next bit correct and quickly, no more cheap options give us what you promised and failed to deliver almost 12 months ago. We have an opportunity with 14 players out of contract most of whom are not good enough and quite a few who are big earners and many of our rivals embargoed for the first month of the January window.
SL should use this opportunity to embrace the fact that maybe one of his 5 pillars seems to be bearing fruit, the emergence of Semenyo, Bakinson, Oleary, Bell, Pearson, Towler and Conway, with Nurse, Pring and Britton and others waiting in the wings for their chances, what is needed now is some quality at right back, midfield and up top to balance the squad and added sorely needed quality.
