    He contributed more to Public Life than most and he did no harm.
    He had a good War Record and persolaly I found his gaffes to be priceless.
    After serving in the RN for so long it's no great wonder that he tended to call a spade an effing shovel.
    No great harm there either.

    But his big individual contribution is probably his award scheme aimed at youngsters.

    Someone who pulled much more than his weight and who earned the respect that he was given by most.

    All of them it was on bbc what the papers say on a morning it also said there was no animosity from her at all it was just bullshit they were even laughing and joking during the telephone conversation.

    BBC have special programmes about him all evening on BBC1 BBC2 AND BBC news channel.
    I mean come on. It’s sad but all three channels?

    The thing I remember most about him was when he was forced to go to Hirohitos funeral and it was very obvious that he hated it and managed to turn a bow into a headbut.

    RIP to Phil the Greek. He had an acute sense of humour, stood by our Queens side, and only ever ventured forth when required. A pretty good Consort.

    I also found out today from another SAFC fan that Sunderland are the ONLY club to have won a major domestic trophy in the reign of every single monarch since the birth of domestic football in the UK
    That was a post by Brian Shotton of SAFC in our blood - great trivia question
