I will leave that for others to judge, but if that is support for whoever is in charge at the moment, I would hate to hear you when you 'really' don't support them.

    Dreamer? decent squad? come on.

Supporting is one thing, but common sense I find is more realistic...
I say it how I see it....I don't get sucked in (very often) to others, dreams............most often than not.......common sense is key..:emoticon-0103-cool:

Common sense based upon a manager lumbered with a failing squad, no transfer window and signing one short term player, only 60 how many to go?

You said "I support whoever is in charge", perhaps you can lead us to these words of support, because I cannot recall any at all, from day one.

But hey who can SL and Ashton promote from within as our next manager? the mind boggles.

And under Holden and now Pearson it’s consistently better? I don’t think so! I fully agree the transfer policy set by MA is fu**ed. No manager will succeed here under that policy, so until SL changes things we’re stuck, which is why I didn’t see the point of sacking LJ. We have now undone 4 years of progress, and sliding down the table in what until LJ came in, was the all to familiar norm for us in this division.

You are 100% correct in the first portion.

However the undoing started January 2018, by not supporting a genuine push for a team in the top 3 and riding the crest of wave, it was to date our best chance ever to progress into the top division since 1976 and every January since has been the same, we have always there or there abouts for at least the play offs and for whatever reason they never supported the manager for that final push. The upshot was recruitment became steadily worse, leaving us with the squad we now find ourselves with now, luckily with 14 players out of contract and a lot of young players coming through, we have an opportunity to change it, but not if SL and Ashton dither about making a decision and soon about Pearson or exactly who they want, otherwise we will have wasted another summer window (the 2nd in succession) leaving no time for recruitment of quality replacements. LJ maybe needed to be more forceful when his stock was high.

I love SL but he has a genuine decision to make and it needs making quickly, I don't see the problem as the fans, the problem is for me SL and Ashton and poor and slow decision making, in short they have taken their eye off of the ball.

I agree Jiffie, in fact, the theme you mention was also our downfall when GJ was in charge. We were top at Christmas and needed an out and out goal scorer to add that extra element to get us automatic promotion, what did we get... Dele Adebola! I have said it before, I do question if SL really has the desire to get City to the Premiership, as it would cost him a fortune. Every time we are close, he never backs it up with the big signing(s) needed. I take your point about LJ maybe should have been firmer, but we know SL doesn't like managers that do that, so it will be an interesting summer if NP is still our manager.

I agree regarding when GJ was in charge......I remember saying at the time, we went from playing mainly decent football to lumping up to Adebola........but some fans liked it and praised his efforts.......but our DNA changed and from then on IMO we were heading one way....south..

Of course, it did not help that our most creative midfielder got injured in early Jan, and was out for a long period of time...... That left square ball Marv, and Carle and Noble who were both far too inconsistent.

In January 2018 LJ's stock was at it's highest and he would have been quite sought after, it was the best time to have forced his hand.

As for the last sentence, I agree because it will tell us pretty much everything that we need to know, if he waits until the summer, then yet again we will be playing catch up and that is a big reason why this season has been so disappointing, I cannot help but feel sorry for Holden hung out to dry by SL and Ashton, one signing who I reckon was injured when we signed him whatever the official line said and then 3 older uninspiring loaners and a younger pretty much untried loaner, a recipe for disaster and never enhanced an already inconsistent squad.

Well I will simplify it for you and I will put in capitals so as you cannot twist or wriggle out of it.

YOU SAID "I ALWAYS SUPPORT WHO IS IN CHARGE". SHOW US THAT SUPPORT YOU HAVE SHOWN FOR PEARSON.

OR IS THAT IS NOT BEYOND YOU?

Pearson is possibly only here for a short while and cannot in anyway be tagged with the current squad which seems to be overloaded with players that are either mercenaries or under performers. The failure to address the past problems with positive solutions has led to this debacle facing our club and I suppose I have to ask if we will travel the same road to nowhere should Pearson decide that the mess is beyond his deep rooted football resume. Whether we are prepared to accept it or not we are sitting at a major crossroad and the decision which way to take will take a lot of deep thought and I just hope that our past will not confuse the issues on the table. Radical change is required at all levels including a willingness to find out what we really want to be and then to analyse the possible solutions but if we stick our heads in the sand for the umpteenth time then we will certainly fail. The time is here for the wake up call that has been echoing around us for far too long and any slip in the commitment will not get us there - wherever that is.

    Absolutely spot on.

It seems obvious that Pearson will not play SL and Ashton's bullshit games like the last 2 managers. When mentioned to him that SL was doing a zoom interview Pearson said something along the lines of "is he that's news to me" if he's not kept in loop he will not pretend that he is.

There is something totally unsettling about certain things at the club, a player announcing that the rehab staff had screwed up his treatment, the same player then announcing he had scans and had identified the problem and had had an operation and the club says nothing, caretaker manager Simpson confirmed that he had no idea about Williams having an op or his public announcement, Holden when told at an away game that Ashton had given an interview on sky saying that an incoming loan was imminent, stated he had no idea about it and now Pearson says he didn't know SL was giving a live interview.

Wow, I feel sorry for Mrs Jiffie........bet she's a happy bunny discussing anything with you!!!

I believe I have showed support for him, of what's deserved..(no "NP out" banners yet) ........unlike some, who suck up every word he says because of who he is.
I don't believe he's set the world a light and I expected better results with his experience, even with the players he has at his disposal....Not that much better than before if I'm honest... I know he's only been here a very short time and has just about done the job he was brought into do.......stop the nosedive to League 1. which of course is a good thing..(even though I don't believe we would have been in that position had LJ stayed...but hey ho...on my own with that one!!!
I don't think any of us can judge him properly until he's been, or if offered a contract enabling him to bring in players that would provide progress for us. that's if SL believes in him to make such an offer..
I await with baited breath of SL's decision.......

I wouldn't worry about Mrs Jiffie having recently celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary.

But I will pass on your concerns to her, but I have to warn you she is passionately loyal to all of her family and doesn't take criticism of any of us too well and has got one hell of a temper on her, I will let you know her reaction, but will choose my moment carefully.

Ann has been with me for 56 years and counting. One thing I have found over that time is to agree to everything and bow at the chosen times.<doh>

almost the same team slightly different game tactic[ NP said v Middsbro nowt to do with him! ] and then on to Swansea, in buoyant mood and still much the same as Middsbro 6 points from 6 [ well done the coach's!] then a series of 4 -1 4-1 … I have searched a few games and not seen any formation like that anywhere... anyone else seen it?
Appears to be using the same players in a different formations which could account for the poor performances as they are not getting used to a particular formation so know where so and so is!!!!!

If that is the case, with trying to use different players in different positions and experimenting with formations....then I haven't got a problem with him assessing exactly what we've got here.....IMO..it's a good time to do it......nothing to lose....should also introduce any academy players worth looking at, give them a taste of championship football...........If that's what NP is doing...I'm all for it
