This is supposed to be a forum for debate. Clearly if everyone agreed about everything all the time there would be no debate.

I have no time at all for political correctness, woke virtue signallers and brain dead Lefties but they are free to disagree with me. I will continue to point out their factual inaccuracies and inconsistencies.

If I annoy and enrage you that much, then try ignoring me. Or is that concept too difficult to understand?

Yes debate should be encouraged but giving an opinion and stating it as a fact doesn't make it a fact.

In a mixture of opinion and fact, what people assume to be facts are beyond my control; however:

Here in the real world, unattractive women do not get in front of camera.
There is nothing sexist about pointing out the fact that women need to be young and pretty to get in front of camera whereas men do not.
I await somebody posting a photograph of the bag of spanners that regularly gets on screen. There must be some hideous Leftie old hag with an I:emoticon-0152-heartJC T-shirt that snarls on Racing TV.

Making apologies for her simply because she is a woman is surely sexism.
Clearly this is not a fact because when I referred to Ms Mulrennan, I was accused of sexism. Had a man made the same stupid comments I would not have been accused of sexism for pointing them out.

If a male presenter makes a stupid comment, it is open season on them.
I refer you to much of the rest of this thread.

Dictionary
ungenuine, adjective. not belonging to or coming from the true stock; not real; counterfeit, false, spurious, adulterated; (zool.) aberrant.

QM - ungenuine

I'm glad you said in a mixture of opinion and fact because you quite frequently give you're opinion and pass it off as fact to try claim a victory in whatever argument it is at the time. I'm not about to start trawling through the internet to find pictures of munters on tv. I'm sure there are plenty. Beauty is a very subjective thing after all.

Going back a bit here but a couple of examples off the top of my head i will give are Carol Vorderman and Anne Robinson. On tv regularly for many years. In my opinion Carol Vorderman has a face like an inside out ball sack and even you would struggle to argue a case for Anne Robinson. I'd go more recent but i watch very little terrestrial tv so probably couldn't name five current male or female presenters.

if she wants to stand in front of camera telling us all about racing, perhaps she should get some knowledge from the guy to whom she is married

Both of these comments very sexist. I'm not a 'loony lefty' or part of the 'woke brigade' as you put it and i'm not trying to fight the good fight for equality. I think the world is way too soft and people get offended over the slightest of things. The ridiculous editing of old tv shows and movies in case it contains inappropriate material, the censorship of comedians etc.. all pathetic in my opinion but if you don't think what you've said on this thread at times is sexist then thats just plain ignorance on your part.

Fantastic interview between Nick Luck and Donald McCain on Racing TV - highest quality and Luck is such a compassionate interviewer. Fascinating the part on Peddlers Cross - some of the older forumites will remember the journey we all went on with him.

Great clip, Oddy, thank you. Nick Luck did do a fine job of interviewing Donald McCain, certainly not an easy man to interview IMHO. But the more the discussion went on the more I really took to Donald McCain, really, a damn nice bloke. He took his time with the answers, and treated the interview very seriously. I wish Donald McCain and his stable continued success in the future; I think that's guaranteed! <ok>

As far as facts versus opinions, I sometimes go to the effort of specifying that something is a fact but I would like to think that it should not always be necessary since a fact is still a fact even without a caveat. If I state that 2 + 2 = 10, that is factually true but you would need to know that is quaternary just like 1 + 1 = 10 in binary.

Just remind me when Carol Vorderman or Anne Robinson ever presented the racing coverage. I did quite specifically state women presenting racing coverage. That is a fact because I can point you to the post where I wrote it.

Both of these comments very sexist.

There is nothing sexist about me stating that somebody clearly lacking in knowledge should get some from somebody that they live with who may have some, just because that person is of the opposite sex. If I had said that a man should ask his wife about something because he had demonstrated a lack of knowledge about a subject nobody would be claiming sexism.

This is getting as bad as only white people are racist.

Mmm to be honest Clare Balding wasn't particularly pretty/good looking when she used to do the racing on TV.

But I do agree the women are generally pretty girls doing the presenting. I haven't seen a tubster of late...

Just thinking Adele ( I do quite like her), Hayley, Francesca etc all very nice but surely the creme de la creme has to be Lucy Versamy.... I mean schhhhawinngg! :emoticon-0115-inlov

All apart from Francesca very good in presenting on the topic in my view. Lucy Verasamy was a bonus in describing the atmospheric conditions..

As you mentioned her Pops ---- Hayley Turner ... inteviewed about her chances on Skibo Castle, states that the horse "has had the winter on his back"

Maybe it's a Northern thing!

Fair enough, I guess whether you think a particular woman is good looking is a matter of opinion.

In her case she did have a strong knowledge foundation coming from a racing family with grandfather, father, uncle and brother trainers; and the BBC is not a commercial operator and most of their team were male racing insiders. Not really cronyism by the BBC as she was qualified as a former jockey. I cannot think of any other female racing presenter that the BBC ever had.

McCririck always had the hots for her but I am not sure then it was widely known that she batted for the other team and the cigars she smoked were not so manly.
