When I was on the fish market, Hake was a similar price to Halibut, but Coley was a cheap fish, very often used as Cut fish in fish and chip shops.

Hake wa similar price to halibut? When was that? Must have been quite a while ago. Wife doesn't take much interest in these things but really enjoyed coley when we had it at home. No fish is cheap now unfortunately.

Just reminded me, my dad had a bakery and fishermen often brought in some fish for him. Often some nice pieces of halibut. My dad said in later years I had said oh, no not halibut for tea again! How times change. Wish I could have it as regularly again.
