He won't if he doesn't play. On second thoughts, scratch that - he'd probably do himself a mischief putting his socks on.
speaking of cheslea rejects. Whats the score with werner and pulisic? these two will be thrown out shortly. Will we be like the guys down the local tip taking that old sofa out of the skip after they toss it in.
I'd have loved us to sign both beforehand. Still wouldn't mind Pulisic, Chelsea should have built a team around the lad.
Cheslea in the end paid a massive ammount ofr each and then went on top and paid them massive wages. these two are supposedly in the top four in wages at chelsea. Nobody really knows but they are quoted on places as being north of 200k or north of 150k depending. Its a massive outlay. someone is going to scoop these two up, probably then will be looking to trun a profit after. Cheslea have with respect to them been playing this game for 5 or 6 years now with the influnce of city stealing thier thunder. they like to speciically boast that "since 2004" they are englands most successful club but in reality if you apply a 10 year view they are now staring down the barrel of being 5-2 in prem titles, 6-1 in league cups, and potentially 3-2 in fa cups. the only bright spot for the chavs is 1 CL and 2 europas compared to city's abject failure. If you apply a 5 year limit the story is much much worse. Cheslea are passively over paying in fees and wages to throw a side together and impatience is Abramovich's main trait. If he had any at all his side would be radically better (which is scary) pulisic is young, werner was never right for them and we all knew it, havertz is very young. Mount is a top top player (twice the talent of lampard) all these guys need time. Now he wants werner out and haaland in. (another young player) Mendy is good in goal, not great but better than kepa who is on 200k+ Jame is great (but won't get respect) Chilwell is very good CBs are nothing to write home about Jorgnho is still an eye sore. They will continue to chance fancy forwards and not resolve the no 6 tye role and CBs and thats where the title is going to be won.
I would have liked both of them as well. I think Werner is better suited to us than Chelsea. We made a big mistake in passing up on him. It was revealed after all the hype surrounding his transfer that we didn't even make an offer.
Its ironic that Chelseas best player at the mo is the one that cost them nothing and is probably on one of the lower wages in that squad, Mason Mount
because we prob couldn’t afford the 45m upfront that it would have taken and the 200k a week wages that chelsea are paying him. Tbf we got Jota who has been far better signing so far
I think we could have struck a deal like the 'buy now pay later' ones we managed. You're right about Jota. Given a straight choice between him and Werner, I'd take Jota. Hindsight and all that, we could have had them both.
Not how release clauses work though is it. so maybe could have done a pay later option but we’d have had to pay way more than the 45m. Still wouldn't afford the 200k wages
he is a class act isn't he? eactly the type of player we need but a lot of fans still shout coutinho if asked. foden and him are england's two best players. How to get both into the england side ought to be southgates prime concern not wating that talent by playing 3 cbs. Add Rice to that CM area and england have the sorts of players gaurdiola would love. Add in taa sitting in in that sort of midfielder RB role guardiola loves and england would have a seriosu side under guardiola. The only issue is magiure and pickford types at the back.
Tbf the deals we did negotiate aren't how it works either. I bow to your knowledge of release clauses as I don't have any insight on them. I think the wages was a special Chelsea wages deal though. Players and their agents know they can ask for what they like from them (and city). They wouldn't get away with from any other club.
Which could be why we didn't make an offer. If we were aware of their interest and were unwilling to compete with them. Comparison between us and Chelsea is pointless tbh, the methodology is completely different. I'd rather have stingy FSG than profligate Abramovich any day. If Roman was in charge of us Klopp would have been binned weeks ago. Or more likely in his first year, because he didn't win the league.
In the end there is this hilarious situation where city reported pay less wages than half the prem. this is the case on many older contacts it seems (so make of that what you will. chelsea play massive wages but apparently city and chelsea pay less wages than arsenal LOL. if anyone really believes that they need a slap with a gullible stick.
It's completely ridiculous and I've obviously got no evidence but I felt like Werner was disappointed to be joining Chelsea rather than us. He oozes Liverpool player to me. Odd thought, I know.
