My wife received a letter from the DWP telling her that her Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is to be increased from 12th April.**
She doesn’t know what to do with all the extra cash and is torn between
1) Putting it towards a holiday, at some time.
2) Upgrade from Sainsbury’s/Asda to Waitrose/M&S.
3) Open up an offshore account and hide it away.

It’s only 75p a week increase, but we are living the dream. #levelling-up

** 12th April is our wedding anniversary, so I have told Mrs B that as I am a taxpayer she can count the 75p a week increase as an anniversary gift. Last of the big spenders.

I was thinking about the new powers to stop demonstrations and protests, because that is what the law is designed to do, and I guess that this new law will be applied to peaceful strikers, picketing their place of work.
So not only is the new law an attack on our freedom to protest, it could also be an attack on workers who have genuine grievances with their employers.

He’s getting a milkshake over him if I ever meet the bloke. Wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I had the opportunity and passed it up
Eggcerlent idea, I'd make sure the yoke's on him.

It's lucky Archers didn't suggest throwing a cheese sandwich at Farage, otherwise there would have been ten pages of cheese puns...

I see that the application to extend the Southampton Airport runway has been denied, with a replay to be held in April with the full council being involved, instead of the 8 that voted it down by 5-3.
One of the reasons for turning it down is the claim that noise pollution would grow and impact on a further 34000 people.
I have been trying to find information about the noise created by Flybe’s jets compared to, for example, the A320 but have only found comparisons for “cabin noise”.
Anyone know if the difference is really so great that it would have the claimed impact?

What I have read is that the proposed runway extension is unlikely to allow much bigger planes to use the airport, but it WILL allow the current sized ones to take off with a full fuel-load, thus taking more passengers/freight ...... I don’t believe that the smaller Airbus, etc ( like the A320) is much more noisy than those which currently use it. However, I’m also doing some more research, as I still remain unconvinced. The issue is that, if Southampton airport stays as is, more passengers will go from Gatwick/Heathrow (with associated car pollution) and Bournemouth could well be expanded .......

Jennifer Arcuri has decided to speak out about her 4 year affair with Johnson.
I am sure there will be a thorough whitewash probe, into his behaviour and we will end up with “nothing to see, move along”, despite her going on trips that she shouldn’t have been invited on, and receiving £120,000 in funding.
No wonder Boris was proposing last week for a relaxation of consequences for those who break the ministerial code !
