    doubt it <laugh>
they were out campaigning in my area once for a GE with the local Tory MP in attendance .A flunkey knocked on my door and asked if i'd like to speak to him about anything and naturally i replied that i'd be willing to discuss a few things with him unfortunately one of the local party staff recognised me and shouted "don't bother he's a bloody commie" which while not true possibly was by their standards .
He even dodged me when he came to my workplace as he refused to leave the managers office till all the staff had left <laugh>

you do have to wonder don't you?

don't go on foreign holiday, extend furloughs for all sorts of hospitality.

Now there speopel out there talking about having to wear masks and scoial distance for up to 2 more years!

I know a lot of people who are buying quite well into the narrative that the UK are ****ing awesome and this is the greatest mobilisation of resources since wwii and such. it was 850k just baout yesterday. almost sure to beat that and get up to a million and all of that.

what is the thing that is going to hit people in the face with this

Theres huge amount of patriotism now attached to the uk/swedish vaccine but it is now being reported that az used outdated info in their trials reported for clearance in the us.

Add this to az not even applying for plant registration to supply the eu and it suggests a company that's pretty much floundering.

The UK vaccine supply seems to actually be coming from india is vast globs of supply so I find this eu bashing rather little Britain.

It seems to me that we are reliant on a giant plant in india making az not anything else and this great churn about the eu is all for show

no the extra supplies (10m iirc) of the AZ vaccine were ordered from the India plant separate to the existing contract with UK plants which are supplying the vast majority The Indian supply was on best endeavours and they are prioritising supplying India .
Not sure what your plant registration reference is to do with but AZ do have plants making the vaccine in the EU .
If the EU do block exports of vaccine it will be the Pfizer jab that presents us with a problem as our only supply of that is from the inside the EU .

I have a query for my more educated friends, how come after 12 months everyone seemed to make a break through with a vaccine at the same time.

Different companies and countries all seemed to find a vaccine and have it approved all in the space of about a month.

I may be missing something obvious, but it strikes me as odd.

True , it was sort of laughed at that they were injecting vodka mixed with meth or some suck lunacy.

Funny really how we still have an East West divide

I think the vaccine roll out has largely been successful and they've got the testing sorted out now. But that doesn't suddenly wash over the entire year long clusterfuck that's been the rest of it, although of course that's what they're hoping will happen. The fact they decided to make today 'rona remembrance day, not sure I'm on board with some state sanctioned tribute given how it only emphasises the colossal mistake that was made by the state in not locking down a lot earlier and that could've prevented a lot of the deaths being commemorated

the AZ manufacturing plant in the EU needs to be a registered facility to supply to the EU. It is not apprently and didn't bother to do the application yet despit ehaving orders. I cannot understand how the vaccines got approved with out it but i presume it was for another facility.

We have 30mil vaccinated so 10mil out of one of the biggest vaccination centers on the globe is not a small minority :) its fairly good but the short fall coming is not due to EU its due to that india plant not supplying 5 million doses. IMO the talk and red top panic is all about driving anit eu sentiment to distract from whatever.

The fact is we are all talking about the eu blocking exports when its never happening so the tories and the little englanders have us talking about what they want us to talk about.

AZ and somehow an example of british this and british that and its now as patriotic as supporting prince phillip asking megan how dark will her baby be ;)

    a) the chinese doctor that released the genetic code should be thanked. posthumously.
    b) they have not been in the space of a month. some are months behind. J7J is 4 months after AZ for example and others are much later
    c) the russians robbed the AZ, everyone says so. then completely short cutted the process.
    d) moderna and pfizer are the same tech, the others are radically different tech.

Nova vax is a completely radically different technology, it uses a carrier to deliver the protein

basically no thnks to that one. Let it be proven very very much as its so different. its a big enough risk to be jabbing 30million people with the current vaccines on emergency use legislation meant for <100 people.

the 10m of AZ from India ( of which we have received 5m ) is 10% of the total AZ order so yes it is a small minority .
The main plant is registered the Dutch one isn't .

I had the Pfizer vaccine so I've been a bit concerned about the EU bullying tactics regarding it's delivery to the UK.

The Pfizer vaccine being distributed in the UK is coming from Belgium. Pfizer have told the EU to back down as they have a contract with the UK which will be met. Supplies are on course for delivery on time and they have said that everyone who has already had Q1 (as they are calling the first dose) will receive Q2 on time as promised. I'm due my second dose in 7 weeks, the dispute or whatever it is, should surely be sorted by then. I've also read that the first dose has recorded 90% efficacy in some people so I'd be happy with that if there is any delay.

You will get your second dose for sure. The supplies that are secure cover that
It's all about how fast the second half of population gets done.

Yeah but I'm talking this far.

10% of 100mil is still 10mil upfront and we don't even need all of the 100mil to cover people as Pfizer is also there.

The 10mil is huge in accelerating the program
