Opinion seems to be divided about whether Jacko or Euell should get a shot at the job, or whether it needs a complete outsider with a fresh approach. Bowyer's departure may have been brewing for a while, in which case Ged Roddy will have been taking a look at the managerial qualities of these two, and also anyone else who is available. Hopefully he has the nous to tell whether either one has what it takes. Didn't Euell turn it down once? But that would be under Douchatelet when it was mission impossible. I wouldn't discount the possibility that either one would be a very good manager, I certainly would like to see it, but not if it's a sentimental choice.

I go with Euell if it was between these two but believe it going to be overseas manager ...

I doubt TS has been blind-sided by this. LB did not wake up this morning and decide to quit. There has undoubtedly been discussion about where the club is going and what part, if any, LB has in the long term plans and, if any, the nature of that part.

With the background of other job offers being available LB has been in a position to leave if he feels that a better sirtuation is available elsewhere.

Meanwhile TS has had time to line up a replacement to cover the possibility that LB might go elsewhere.

If both sides see the outcome as a success it might well be that LB is relieved of his contractual obligations and Birmingham get their man forr free.

Hopefully it has all been concluded on amicable terms.

As to future coaches, it would not surprise me to see someone from Scandinavia with a good connection into the grassroots, in the same way as Espririto Santo has tapped into Portuguese youth at Wolves. I might put a sneaky bet on Michael Laudrup.

I’m obviously nervous, but have reason to be optimistic with TS. I can’t think of anything he’s got wrong so far.

Personal preference is somebody with more experience than Euell and Jacko.

Ridiculous odds. Curbs doesn't want a return to management, Kenny Jackett and Neil Harris are Millwall failures, SCP has a nice little job out of management, Sol Campbell, another failure.

The Cowley Brothers are untarnished and championship clubs don't seem to want them

I think it's time we dropped the Curbishley dream. He was a legend, and got out of the game ahead, but he hasn't managed for years and is probably a great reader of the game but maybe out of touch as manager. Wehave a chance after all the cheapies under Duchatalet, to get soemone experienced in.

Or just gie Kael Fraeye another spin - tell him Elfs still has the Jacket ad a key to the laundry!!

I think they're holding out for another "big" team either at championship level or with the ambition to be championship level shortly.
