http://www.channel4.com/programmes/campus If you haven't watched this programme then I recommend you do Campus This programme is similar to The Office. It is written by the same people that wrote Green Wing. This programme had one successful series and unfortunate Channel 4 have opted to cancel it. This was a very popular series and has led to hundreds of complaints so please watch so we can have a second series of this incredibly brilliant comedy. I understand this is off topic but I thought this would be a good way of advertising it I would link this to general chat too but I can't as I am doing this via the Not606 App...
Despite being quite funny in parts, I found The Office almost embarrassing it was so acutely observed. It reminded me of a couple of idiots in higher places where I've worked over the years. Mind you, I'm not a fan of Ricky Gervais, so in the end it didn't really appeal. Might give Campus a go. Earlier this year I watched a brilliant 7 part comedy series called Episodes, featuring Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig, from Green Wing [noting your connection above, I mention it here], and Matt Le Blanc. Really, really good comedy, which I believe was totally overlooked on BBC2. Luckily for me, they are going to do another 9 episodes of Episodes for broadcast next year. Don't ask me why 7 and then 9. Hey, the Beeb think 3 parts is a series nowadays.
I saw the 'pilot' episode (about 2 years ago?) and I think they made it the first part of series one. I liked it, but when it came back little was made of it so I never got into it. I'm definitely going to buy the box-set and go through all of the episodes.
Episodes was brilliant too. I just want campus yo come back for a second series. The only reason it isn't is because it was something like 1% below the average viewing figure for C4. Which for a brand new comedy is quite an achievement. Yes, episode 1 is similar to the pilot however it is much better and much more funny and longer. Episodes are 50-60mins each. The pilot I think was 30mins. Watch it
I'm really looking forward to the second series of Episodes. I thought Stephen Mangan particularly was very funny in the first series.
TBH I hated Campus, I'm a massive Green Wing fan and it just felt like Campus had kept the quirkiness and abstract humour of Green Wing, but the characters were just nowhere near as good. The vice chancellor guy was just too irritating and obnoxious that it wasn't fun to watch.

Yep, not bad at all. I could be sold. OK, two can play at that game.
It's very funny and I would recommend to anyone that hasn't watched it Alternatively, please make a complaint to Channel 4 demanding why they have cancelled it!! That's what I've done... The final episode ends on so many cliffhangers!
Ah that could be me, I'm afraid. Any bit of TV I tend to like a lot ends up being cancelled pretty promptly, though I've never known a series get cancelled after I've merely seen and liked a trailer. An example from earlier this year was the Italian Detective series ZEN. 3 episodes was all we got. I bloody loved it, It was classy, it was brilliantly acted, and the stories made you think, instead of being the usual tripe. Plus, there was Rome, and you'd be hard pressed to find a more beautiful city in Europe. So of course, it was cancelled by the new fat BBC controller. So, as we're chucking trailers around... After writing to them this is the response I got fro Channel 4: Dear..., Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding CAMPUS. We appreciate your comments in reply to the news that we do not intend to commission a further series of Campus. Channel 4 are very proud to have championed Campus and those fans who watched it adored it, but there simply weren?t enough of them to justify a second series. We are sorry to disappoint you but appreciate you getting in touch with your appreciation of the series. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise. Regards, Damien McCandless Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries This was either an auto reply or a copy and pasted piece from the website from which it was announced that it was cancelled...! C4 need to take risks, Peep Show was the longest running comedy when it got a second series, and look how popular it is now! Poor poor channel 4!
Imagine when watching this, you'll be watching and this is totally random and unexpected! Never laughed so much in my life! In Episode 6 if anyone is interested
