I suppose once you start bringing in te technology to stop racial abuse, the question I would ask is why stop just at racial abuse?
Comments such as spastic, mong, ****, etc are also offensive, should Comm get banned next time he asks
@BobbyD about his 'chinky' - I've even been told on this forum to go kill myself. Hence the problem being, there are many forms of offensive language aside from racism. If restrictions were brought in, the site owner might eventually have to bin a lot of content in GC. We seem to look at this from a tunnel vision of racism, but social media monitoring would surely have to go beyond that, if people demand measures are brought in. What we might deem as non offensive, the powers that be, may decide otherwise, so at what point does it encroach on freedom of speech. That's not saying racism shouldn't be stamped out, it's just I can't see it stopping at just that, once the cyber police are allowed to monitor our interactions.
