Kabak was superb in this game, much improved from the Leicester match.

Yup. Very solid yesterday. Not a great tackle for his booking but was definitely much more solid than Hendo who got done twice by balls in behind.

**** knows what he was thinking for Mane's goal. He didn't even need to clear it at that point, just run with it and passed back to the keeper.

Was that Upamecano? I thought it was but they kept seem to suggest it was his partner who got subbed off so wasn’t sure?

I thought the booking was superb. Obviously a foul but what would referred to as a "technical foul", it was a dangerous situation and he took one for the team.

Pretty sure it was but happy to be corrected if wrong

just re watched. It wasn’t him. It was his partner.

Think what’s confusing is that the Bayern guy chases mane down from the half way so ended up closer to the goal.

Wish they'd take Macca off commentary, he ****s up all the time. Also makes claims as a "Liverpool fan" that are ridiculous and inaccurate.

I watch CL on my laptop and have it on mute while something else is on tv so never an issue thankfully. Only knew cos I just rewatched the highlight on bt sport YouTube just now and heard him say it lol

Its nice to see some go our way for once this season.

I think Villa could have kicked the ball at the corner flag and it would have somehow deflected into the goal in that game, as has our luck been in general this season

Villa missed three sitters. True, we missed a couple too, but if that game had ended 10 - 4 we could have had no complaints. Still think it would have been down to a two of three goal difference though had that nipple not been in goal.

He looked good last night, but any new player needs about 10 games before you see what you have. I am however optimistic that he will be decent.

He's only 20 and we paid buttons for him. He's got till the end of the season, and at his age there'll be less ups than downs for the next couple of years. He's strong, but while not being slow, he seems no quicker than Williams, tbh. Both Williams and Kabak could do with a spell of games alongside Virgil when he comes back, imo, but that won't be until next season, and it'll probably be this time next year before Virgil is fully back, if indeed he retains that phenomenal pace at all.

I think even having Fabinho next to him will help massively.

He looked like a very good CB that was either caught in the headlights or already halfway to Munich...
It's not just last night, I wasn't impressed the last game I saw him in either, tbh.
He went wandering up the pitch, lost possession and just jogged back more than once.
Solid enough on a one-to-one, but not good in a number of other areas. It's a bit much to assess a player on a handful of games, I know - but I'm not keen.

he reminds me of koubaily. Talented physically but prone to error. Theres a reason why he's still at napoli despite everyone raving about him.

I would say this lad looks great doing certain things and probabaly also suits leipzig in general but will be found out at the higher level unless he changes his attitudes, I agree looks really lax.

But then again vvd ended up at celtic and southampton despite outrageous talent and was accused of the same thing.

Upemecano is talented and has a lot of potential but is still young and raw. Needs coaching.

His partner, Konate is the better defender of the two and is someone that we're heavily linked with.

I would have loved to have seen Koulibaily and VvD together, think is more the price tag that has burdened him down, which is a shame but i cant blame Napoli for doing that
