Cheers for that. Almost exactly the same thing happened over here with nursing homes. In a way it was worse because we had NHS management pushing untested, covid suspected and covid positive cases out of hospitals into nursing homes and they were threatening the homes with suspension of NHS contracts unless they accepted the cases. Very few were able to resist that sort of financial pressure. We also got exactly the same sort of under reporting of deaths of nursing home patients - although I think that got corrected in late April or May by the Office for National Statistics data, because that reported place of death and place of residence. Until the numbers of cases and deaths in our local reporting areas picked up then they suppressed case reporting so as to prevent the identification of individuals. If only we were still having to apply that now! At least we in Wales didn't have slimy politicians trying to shift the blame onto other politicians. I can't really say about the UK-English situation at the time, because that was when my brother caught it in hospital and wasn't expected to pull through, so I was a bit too distracted to register such differences.
thanks for the reply I'm sick and tired of slime ball politicians altering the facts to suit there agendas, and hope that some where someone has the balls to make all ****weazles held to account no matter what side of the fence they are on, we as a whole on here have too many arguments over politics, all caused by MSM lying to the general public and this is more prevalent in American than England thank god, but we are catching up fast, they are all liars
It should be obvious that the existence of the electoral college renders the popular vote meaningless. Voters who reside in states where the opposition party has control are disenfrachised and can't be arsed to go out and vote. Since the dems enjoy large majorities in our most populous states, the popular vote will always be skewed in their favor. I'm from Illinois, I knew I couldn't help Trump much, but I went to vote out any and all of the sorry Democrats, and wouldn't you know - most of them ran unopposed! A complete waste of time.
I'm aware of the Electoral College, but to call a vote where the most votes DON"T win simply isn't democratic, not by any stretch of the imagination. Its incumbent on the GOP to sell its policies to a wider demographic than it already does if it doesn't to rely on the Electoral Collage to win any future election. That said as long as Linsday Graham, Josh Hawley, Jim Jordan Marjorie Taylor Green continue to spew hate and stupid conspiracy theories I fear that the Republicans will soon find itself totally unelectable, much like the Labour Party under Corbyn.
The MSM, particularly in this country, but also for most of the USA (your far right Fox News source is a notable exception in the USA) are far more reliable than the dark media sources prevalent on social media that largely spread lies from unaccountable sources that can be debunked with a little investigation. PS.. Just looked at your video and this had nothing to do with his original team of lawyers. This was one of the lawyers that just made one of the worst defence cases in history but relied on the cowardice of Republican senators not to do the right thing. He stated that he was under siege but didn't want to talk about it. The ones I have mentioned were on camera for us all to see. If this man is telling the truth then I will expect the footage to emerge.
Well sir, you certainly are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own constitution!
Serious question as 2 of my kids live in Ohio so i'm obviously interested. How can a democratic system of voting be fair if the majority vote of the people doesn't win? I understand the college voting system and the fact that it's based upon population, but if the national count is higher for one party or the other, how is this democratic? If some people can't be arsed to vote, as is their democratic right in the US, surely it makes sense that the votes of those who did choose to vote have more weight?
You are absolutely correct, but I stick with my premise that the way the Constitution is formed predominantly takes away true democracy.
Electoral college is like a bad referee.....equally bad for both teams unless your playing at Old Trafford. Also, true democracy here in the USA is only good if you get your own way.
