watched a quick doc the other day, about how the sex pistols didn't get to no.1 with god save the queen during the queens jubilee thingy.
70s were so good it seems. Strikes, one man one job. but they all watched totp. even @brb favourite hottie he'd buck it all over, if his heart lasts please log in to view this image
Thatcher was hated by many and understandably, BUT, I've always looked at it differently, although many will not agree. She shut the coal mines, she was first to kick the UK into the 21st Century. Maybe, maybe not. Fossil fuels have to be a thing of the past, so rather than the leg over as you suggest Comm, did she actually give all of us a leg up without actually realising at the time. History can be a funny ole thing, if you take out the political rhetorics. https://www.theengineer.co.uk/energy-and-thatcher-a-tangled-legacy/ Controversial or not?
**** knows.. I just thought you forgotten i exsisted, My dad was miner, he hated her, but scargill equally. I've always followed a more conservative way of thinking, and it's done me ok in ok. But now, especially in the last year, i really am leaning more towards Labour thinking...
The point I was trying to make though mate, was not a political one, it was a climate one, and coal mines fly in the face of environmental protection surely? Afterall, how many people actually burn coal these days (in the UK), one source of smog gone, but replaced by another, the motor vehicle, well until 2030.
you can never beat the feel or heat of a real coal fire. i spent my whole childhood with a real fire (not open) the coal man coming around, bags of coal... stoaking it up before bed. It's just some little things some of us miss, and some will never have.
