In the last few games, seriously stop it



They really ought to be an anomaly.
Having a couple of well practiced corner takers, ideally one on each foot, as well as a well drilled mob in the box can easily add 10-15 goals a year.
It's madness that teams don't put more emphasis on it.
Did no one learn from moneyball!?
Pretty sure I read something the other day that teams have got so good at defending corners you are now statistically more likely to concede from one than score from one.
Might have been at top flight level mind.
I don't mind a short corner when it's on. If no one is watching the short option you can get a better angle and position for the cross and it makes sense. We just seem to do it regardless though. Yesterday we did one when the only player we had to pass it to was pretty much being marked. Their lad simply took the ball. Even if our lad had received the pass he'd have been under so much pressure that it would have likely been less effective than just crossing it in. We need to get more basic footballing intelligence sometimes
