It's all about getting the balance right ... you have bought some amazing talent but you need to find the best 'team' ... we have much more 'talented' players than Marc Albrighton ... but he is doing a cracking job right now in a crucial role ... and the defence with the mix of old head Evans, stylish Castagne and the youthful vigour of Fofana and Justin just gets better and better every game (what a talent Fofana is gonna be?) ... loving it that we buy these young guns rather than pay mega bucks for established players
Our profile is a lot higher than it was before Roman arrived. We're a completely different club to what we were then, so the expectations are higher.
Money obviously plays a part. True, others have more but we have more than most. We obviously can afford top players, whereas others can't. It's just the way it is. I would suggest that you wouldn't be so at odds with the game if Roman had taken you over instead of us. Tbh it wouldn't bother me if Roman walked away and we went back to little or no expectation. I enjoyed those days.
I'm indifferent mate, part of me would sell my soul for some of the highs you lot have have had. But there is a part of me that despises the way footy is ruled by foreign billionaires. We've had one, a minion, it failed. Just a small time billionaire, not in your owners league. Footy has lost it's way big time imo. Working mans sport
No ... we don't have the funds of the really big clubs ... but I do believe we have a firm foundation for top 10 and challenging for a European spot each season for many years to come ... we have become an attractive proposition for young, ambitious, talent (cynically, perhaps just a stepping stone - but an attractive one nonetheless) and I think we will maintain that, given the bond between owners and the club (and, more importantly, the city of Leicester) ...
My view for what it is worth, we are not in with a realistic shout for the title, that’ll be going to the north-west, I would guess Man City as they are picking up momentum. Top 4 would be unreal, 5th/6th more likely and still a great achievement with so much competition and back to back EL campaigns would be great progress. However, even my glass half empty self says we won’t collapse/burn out like last season. This time last year we lost Ndidi, Vardy for a number of games, then Ricardo, Maddison, Chilwell and Soyuncu... This season, although it gets brushed under the carpet in the media, we have kept pace in the first half of the season with no Ricardo and Soyuncu the whole time, Castagne for a massive chunk, Maddison only now looking fit, Vardy basically playing injured, Evans as well has had time out. With them mostly back now, our depth is only better. Ricardo and Soyuncu will be like new signings and nobody would turn their nose up as two January signings of that quality!
don’t look likely to do so. Return of European football could have an impact with a swapped schedule/called off games being squeezed in, but same for others in Europe, they look strong. Been a strange season, could be 3-4 teams who win it at this time.
they'll not finish top 4.. There's city, Liverpool man united and Tottenham.. Chelsea and arsenal will also improve and come may they'll be around 5th 6th with Leicester
Very much so ... but would also add in 2 other factors ... firstly the progression of the younger players ... Barnes, Justin and Luke Thomas have all come on markedly, the first 2 now being talked of in terms of England. Secondly, Papy Mendy has been like a new signing - did a cracking job early doors when Wilf was being deployed as an emergency centre half and then out injured. We now have quality cover in depth. That we have sold Chilwell and, if anything, look better without him, is testament to the recruitment team. Very good to watch right now. It's a good time to be a Foxes fan.
When James Justin is rampaging through France’s defence in the last minute of the final of the Euros just weeks after lifting the Premier League and FA Cup for Lesta you’ll feel silly.
