I am 99.9% certain Lewis will sign , saw a clip earlier on that one person ( People ) who owns 25% don't want to meet his personal demands , Inneos will and Toto is currently on he fence .
I thought that the Merc F1 team were owned 33% Toto, 33% Daimler and 33% Inneos. So who owns 25% I have no idea. Plus as Inneos only just bought their 33% I can't imagine that they were not aware of the ball park Lewis would want to race, Toto would also have a good clue so is it Daimer/Merc who are causing the sticking point?
All seems a bit weird to me - more to it that the press are speculating.

I agree . Something does not feel right , but I am still sure Lewis will be there at the start of the season.

I have a theory, which could make things interesting.
Hamilton only wants a 1 year deal, Mercedes have run the numbers for the floor removal next year and calculated that they will be significantly more affected than Red Bull, to the point they don't think they can compete. So Hamilton is thinking why bother?

Who knows how that's going to work out... Could be a similar loss across the board, could be a significant mix up. Hopefully a pack closer, rather than just a reshuffle.

Or maybe he wants to strengthen Mercedes links with his projects outside F1? Increasing support for his BLM / social justice passions? Some kind of support for his Extreme E team?

He might want to leverage his position/influence, while Mercedes might be concerned about distraction from their F1 objectives.

Am sure Hamilton will sign. The talk of Russell possibly taking his place is exciting, but not sure it would happen as he is much bigger than Hamilton/Bottas so they'd have to adapt the car to fit him if he were going to race over a season.

Hamilton will want wdcx8, whatever it is he is doing at the moment will sort itself out.

Plus Merc will want 8th constructors as well to get a clean sweep of all constructors and drivers in this format before the change in 22.
Can't see Lewis quitting so it's probably just about $$$ and a few less appearances for him.

I think the regs mean it'll only be the seat they have to change.

See now . If I was clever enough with PC stuff , I's have a picture up right now of Valtteri and the DWC trophy 2021 , but i'm not . So we will just have to wait ;)

Just seen that Jenson Button has re-joined Williams as senior advisor!!! Hopefully they are going in the right direction. Be great to see them start getting some points and managing a few overtakes.
Hopefully the new management now have a full understanding of what the team needs and are implementing it. Be great to see them getting in the mix.
